Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Checked the tyres over the past couple of days and one of the rears, which are quite new (Pirelli P Zero Rosso - 7.0 mm tread) seems to have a slow leak as it dropped to 36 psi. What's the best way to get this sorted nowadays? :?:

POST 2Original post

The source of the leak needs to be identified and fixed. I assume you have checked for any obvious nails etc. on the tyre and the valve ? Have you notice that once or more than once ??? Theo

POST 3Original post

If they are recently fitted and you have experienced this then I'd suggest the tyre has not sealed itself onto the rim properly. I assume your alloys are in good shape? On tyres that have been on a while and where the rim is damaged the alloy corrosion can cause the tiniest leak, a good reason for keeping them in tiptop shape. Failing the above, you haven't parked up against a kerb for a few hours without realising? This can deflate a tyre. I'd say get down to the fitters again and ask them to reseal. :thumb:

POST 4Original post

I had the same problem on a new tyre, had the wheel back off twice looking for nails etc. In the end it turned out to be a very tiny air leak from a patch of corrosion starting where the tyre beaded, the lacquer was peeling off from the alloy. Luckily it was on the inside face so wire brush removed it and then the fitter put some compound on to aid dealing, fingers crossed all looks fine now.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I only picked the car up on Tuesday so I'll take it down the local tyre depot first and ask them to check it out for me incase it's something as simple as a duff valve. If it isn't the valve I'll ask them what they can do as the tyre looks virtually new.
