Porsche says their 8.5” & 10” Carrera Sport wheel set cannot be fitted with a 5mm spacer.
How about the 4mm spacer from Boothe, would that work? Anyone done it?
Anybody with any experience with the Carrera Sports and spacers? The other 19 inch Porsche wheels work with 15mm spacers in the back and 6mm spacers in the front.
i have carrera sports on my CS without a spacer and im pretty sure you could put a spacer on if you wished....just would probably rub if the suspension hit that low. here's a pic of to show how the wheel's offset puts it in line with the fender
why would you want to put a spacer anyway? The offset puts the wheels at what seems optimal position for handling
At the Big Bear run I was talking with Dimitri (was that you?) about the size of the Carrera Sports on my car. He pointed out that those wheels are wider than the stock wheels (closer to the fender). I hadn't seen anyone else's wheels up close so I never noticed that before. I'm guessing that's the reason for the "no spacers" on the C Sports. They're pretty close... Don't know about that 4 mm spacer...
no that wasnt me. im pretty sure dimitri wasnt a 5'9" 19 year old asian person...carrera sports are .5" wider up front and rear than the other carrera ________ wheels.
I also should probably mention that I meant the 8.5” & 10” Carrera Sport wheels in combination with H&R springs. Car also has the PASM. I think lowering changes the final stance, therefore the actual room between fender and tire. Plus the PASM already puts down the can by about 10mm.
The C-Sport wheels are 1/2 inch wider than the other 19" wheels, and the offsets of the wheel itself put the tires pretty far outboard. The difference between a 5mm and 4mm spacer is infinitesimal for all practical purposes. Put the springs on the car - set the ride height, and see where things sit. If you can put the spacers on after that, then you can do so... my bet would be that it will look just fine without the spacers, and any more would end up rubbing the fenders. Make sure the springs are linear-rate springs (and not progressive rate) or you'll blow out your PASM shocks very early. After you lower the car, make sure you get a 4-wheel alignment. The lowering will add a lot of neg. camber, and you'll wear out the insides of your tires quickly if you don't re-align things.

Thanks all for the info!
brad,
So, my Carrera wheels are on order (in flat black) and than will see how it looks and go from there.
Linear-rated springs and not progressive rated spring, that part needs more research it seems... TechArt approves their springs for PASM, but not sure if H&R does...
Thx
