Suggestion

Het's it should shift fine because you can get the X97 knob for both the Turbo and the Cayman, and I've heard of people replacing their knobs with GT3 knobs, etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I will have a short shifter installed next week and I am currently thinking about changing the shift knob. Anyone an idea if the Turbo shift knob will fit my 06 cayman S? Also if anyone knows the price would highly appreciate, my second choice is currently the Alu shift knob... (almost too expensive...) View attachment 1655

POST 2Original post

Het's it should shift fine because you can get the X97 knob for both the Turbo and the Cayman, and I've heard of people replacing their knobs with GT3 knobs, etc. They all sound very interchangable to me. There's also a guy on ******** selling an RUF knob , I will post a pic below, thought you might like the design. - Suneet

Thank's for the comment, will find out the price today for the Turbo Shift Knob... would expect it to be a little cheaper than the Alu option.

POST 6Original post

I guess you're talking about this one... I really like the aluminum Porsche logo on the handbrake but I am stunned by the price. You can find similar items for 986s & 996s for much cheaper. I've not been able to find anything that's not cost-prohibitive for 987s.

POST 7Original post

Think there is a newer version of that one.... below the one I am looking at, have not gotten final price confirmation, but think is about 1000 USD including the e-break. View attachment 1658 http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/997987 x97.jpg
