Can anyone explain what these guys did to this
cayman
? I wanna say that it's a simple 997 bumper and headlight swap-out. Does this mean that both the bumper and headlights are interchangable between the
cayman
and 997?
Nope, it's a complete front end swap. Bumper, headlights, fenders and i think even hood. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
You are correct, the F-L GTS has a 997 GT3 front end requiring change of bumper, fenders, and headlights.
Hood is the same on both cars.
brad
It would be funny if you could swap the rear of the
911
too.
I like it! How much??? This car...with the GT3 grill inserted and the Techart wing would look pretty mean.....
I like the lower half of the nose, but I don't like seeing those ugly turn signals. They break everything up. In that regard, I like the
Cayman
nose better.
Man, that would get some stares at stoplights.

997 GT3 bumper/cover with GT3 cup chin spoiler(not the OEM bumper spoiler). Got the same front end on my 997.
The
911
headlights are a big step backward.
911
owners should be putting
cayman
fenders/lights on THEIR cars.
OK...then how about this one????
???
I do not know what to make of the 997 front end on the front of the
Cayman
!
I mean, I cannot decide which I prefer.
Sure, the F-L looks different from all other cars, barring this Techart above, but I like the integrated Fog Lights and the clean front end look of the stock
Cayman
. I am not certain about the ascetics of the 997 turn signal lights per Gator Bite's observations above, but I think Gator Bite's eyes may have it right. Something looks different: It both appeals and repels.
I guess like everything, time will tell. It will either grow on me or it will not. Either way, I'd take one.
But, then there's the new Aero Package to consider. I find I prefer the new Aero look on the factory
Cayman
versus the cut and paste 997 GT cup front end.
I sure would like to see some specs, like drag coefficients, and some more data before I decide. Perhaps the stock
Cayman
would be best for all around driving, gas consumption and daily driving.
I wonder what Pinky thinks about the butchering . . . uh . . . er . . . altering of his design???
