I thought it looked lovely like this, in actual fact it was one of my less financially viable decisions because I instructed our bodyshop to paint the rear spoiler, mirror backs and air intakes black + fit the side decals before we marketed the car- to me, at least, it worked beautifully but Craig who ended up purchasing the car from us (see above) liked it better all silver so I sent it back to the bodyshop for them to spoil my creativity.

Have you bid him £55k?, that was the link i was about to post until i read the end of your post, he has had it a while without it selling, i'd say £55k is about right for it.
There's the 911V car. http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/620/996GT2...

Good luck finding one
Drop EVOeng a PM he knows most of the UK cars, and may know of some that could be available but not advertised. They are thin on the ground as people are finding out. Fantastic car!
What's not to like about a 996GT2? Probably biased as I own one, but they not only look the dogs dangly bits, but they go like a freight train as well! Very special 911 with lots of bespoke parts. Enjoy the hunt.
That pic has confirmed my decision to go back to silver on the wheels......I think! Great looking car. Edited by m33ufo on Thursday 22 May 13:04

Don't buy one, because after a GT2 there isn't much that can replace it.

Was it a car they sold previously to a chap just over a year ago? Did it have a black spoiler and black mirrors when it was previously sold, might of even had a black GT2 sticker on the side if it is that car I saw it at the Silverstone Classic last year the buyer had Henry paint the parts back to silver I spoke to the owner who had from memory come out of a lambo. If it is this car then it was discussed briefly on here, don't think there were any horror stories. I think you will be pretty safe buying a car from 911V they have a good reputation on here, although I have no experience with them personally. Get down there and take a look they will go over the car with you.
Do you happen to have a pic of your front end showing the number plate plinth (support)? Mine is slightly angled forward - is that how they hang? Cheers.
ANY ONE PRICED UP THE MK2 ON CAR AND CLASSIC.ITS ARTIC SILVER AND 22000 MILES ?

Congrats, welcome to the club. Enjoy
Well done ... Great colour, great car.

Pretty much decided to go back to OEM silver on the mk2 wheels but unsure on the mirrors / wing. Was half thinking of Speed Yellow I'll pop you an email. All the best.

Given you only posted your requirement here Wed and this car is under your budget and you are buying from a specialist who has a good rep for nice cars and its a genuine low volume original panel gt2 you must quite honestly feel like a pig in s t right now lol! Good buy imo
Don't think you can go wrong buying from 911V. Good cars at a competitive price and Tom is a gent.
I think the black looks great! Would leave the GT2 stripe but love the wing and mirrors. Tom just forwarded these....
Personal preference but I prefer factory original - luckily Tom obliged!

Ive spent the day sorting out my garage, even mopped the floor....i love the build up to a new car and this will be the most special ever owner. Also has a message of the prior owner Craig, so feeling great at the moment.

Depends when its ready as its having a clutch and main service as Porsche Torque. I will be driving the car immediately to Czech Republic where i am currently based as an expat (due back to UK within 12 months). Will fly in with my 9 yr old son for a 1,000 mile return leg/bonding session, car and boy! I am also contemplating a Nurburgring lap as its on the way home, if anyone has advice on a hotel nearby that has good secure parking would be helpful. Not been this excited since.....well honestly cant remember...
http://www.am-tiergarten.de/en/rooms-nuerburgring http://www.nuerburgring-hotel.de/index.php/en/ http://hotel-eifel-nuerburgring.dorint.com/en/ Think only the Dorint has a secure carpark. 1000 miles to go, well that is a nice treat. Take it easy in wet conditions. Let us know what you think of the GT2 after the trip, incl with pictures. Enjoy your GT2. If possible visit http://www.klassikstadt.de/ , its a very nice place full of old and new cars. Edited by PTT on Sunday 25th May 19:16

Craig said: Sounds like a great trip and you will be glad it's got cruise control fitted! You have just reminded me I to have cruise in my GT2, should come in handy for the Le Man trip. Slightest twitch of the right foot at motorway speeds in the UK sees you in triple digits in the blink of an eye!
Well, maybe see you in Lemans Last year, even a partytent fits in a GT2.

Will revert back on how the journey goes. The Nurenbergring is exactly half way so its agreed to spot there for the night and do a lap in the morning before the final leg home...

Mine is wedge shaped!
Just an update from Prague, the GT2 is living up, in fact exceeding expectations and is an amazing machine....haven't got to really test it out yet other than some high speed autobahn action on the way back from the UK. Car is currently in Porsche Prague for a new windscreen due to pitting, local dealership seems pretty good so far. Still pinching myself Ive got such a great Porsche !!!! hard work saving up was worth it. Steve ( W1 TAK)
