Unsuccessful attempt

So my keys in my 2007 cayman stopped working, so I took it to the dealer and they tried reprogramming the keys which did not work, they replaced my keys with a new set, and that still did not fix the problem, then they said that I need a new alarm control unit, so I waited for that to come in and it still did not fix the problem, so after that they said it was some antenna rod that needs to be replaced, and I took it in today and then received a call that it still did not fix the problem.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Warranty is covering the problem, but just the frustration of having to manually lock my doors when I have the car, and them not being able to fix it,,, has anyone else had this problem before?

POST 2Original post

I had the same problem when my '07 was delivered. After several hours of reprogramming they finally called Porsche. It was fixed by simply disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.

POST 3Original post

Today they called me and said that it is still not fixed,, but I can take the car home for the weekend, and that a technician from porsche has to come and take a look at it, my service advisor said that they have been in contact with porsche and still cannot resolve the problem, but i will mention the battery thing to them and hope that they did not try that so that will be the problem...

POST 5Original post

WAG is PWIS is flaky. Watched a tech try to resurrect a radio in... my '08 CS and remove/clear the "change oil in 3 days" message and it took him a couple of tries. Second he used another PWIS and had better luck. Radio still flaky and quit again later (had it replaced under warranty and new one works fine). Flaky PWIS. Dealer needs to cycle through PWIS stations until he finds the best one. No doubt the senior techs horde the good equipment and the less senior tech gets the crappy PWIS. Sincerely, Rockster.
