Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have replaced the battery and "reset" the fob (ie, manually unlock door, insert key, press #1 button for ~ 5 secs) to no avail.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Neither of the key fobs will open the rear hatch. I have replaced the battery and "reset" the fob (ie, manually unlock door, insert key, press #1 button for ~ 5 secs) to no avail. Hatch opens with level along driver's door jam. These are the only ideas I have seen upon searching the fora (yes, I did try to search). Have I missed a thread on this topic? Longing for more sensitivity from my fob, Tom 2008 S

POST 2Original post

Have you tried the other key fob that came with the car? If it also doesn't work, then you will need to take the car in IMO.
