I own a 996 which has just turned 10, full Porsche history (which did sway me when I purchased it) I have used OPC for bits and bobs BUT I've decided to travel 150 miles south of my home and use a company called Pro-Porsche.They are situated in Yorkshire, Why ?

Do I take my 996 C4S to Porsche Hatfield for a 48,000 mile service or can someone recommend an independent garage I've got a service due in 3,000 miles, would it detract from the value of the car if I took it to an indie at the moment all it's history is Porsche + 1 indie?

Ok excuse my ignorance when it comes to geography but I'm not sure where Hatfield is ! Where approx in the country is this, how close to Hatfield are you ? How old is your car, do you intend to keep it for some time ?

My car has 39000 miles, I'm going to book a major service with Pro-Porsche for sometime this July. This includes all the usual + spark plug replacement.I've also opted for a brake fluid change and poly v belt change.
The price inclusive of vat £445.32... Bargain
Will using an indie devalue your car..I think not, pick the right team and save a packet !

I'm about 8 miles from Hatfield, Watford area if that helps that does sound like a good price for all that work! I'm due for a poly rib belt as well, thanks for the reply.
Sorry for my ignorance but whats a poly rib belt as ive just today noticed a belt kind of squeeky slippy noise any ideas as only does it when gets warm ?
Poly belt
Its the belt that drives your alternator / water pump etc,
This is usually replaced during your 48,000 mile service.
If its squeaking maybe its stretched or one of the tension pulleys need replacing. Maybe its just a simple case of some sort of oil or lubricant overspill onto the belt during a service.

Dont think the sound is coming from there sounds more further into the engine, unsure at the moment need to swop the warranty over then take it in to porsche :roll:
