Is there a fuse or something I can look at, or do I just need to replace the switch assembly?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

The trunk releases just fine when the trunk button on the door sill is actuated. I can open the frunk fine with my fob. Is there a fuse or something I can look at, or do I just need to replace the switch assembly? Thanks! Mike

POST 2Original post

Try pressing down on the rear of the button while lifting the front.

POST 3Original post

These switches have been reported to fail. Replacement is the likely answer.

POST 4Original post

Recently I had a problem with the frunk switch - the lever felt like something was broken inside. If I pushed as WillyP described it would work. I ordered a new one for about $79 shipped from here SWITCH COVER - PORSCHE (997-613-105-02-A05) Pretty easy to replace once you figure how to remove the sill. Some claim to be able to remove the switch without sill removal but mine wouldn't budge. Hint: you will need a 5mm hex (allen) wrench for the bolts behind the two black caps. Since you can't see them, it takes some patience to get the wrench seated in the bolt. Just loosen them and lift the sill up up.

POST 5Original post

Many thanks gents! The press-down-and-pull-up method described by WillyP worked, and I've ordered a new switch from the link provided by RSchwerer. This forum is the best! Thanks again, and Happy Holidays to All! Mike

POST 6Original post

I had to replace mine a couple of month ago. It is an easy fix as others have said. There is a small tab that can break off if you are a bit aggressive while opening the frunk. Not to promote another forum, but CR has a detailed how to with photos if you get stuck. Machog

POST 8Original post

Thanks guys! I've had the sills out once before, when I replaced the scuffed up originals with a refinished set. I wish someone offered some kind of scuff resistant sills. It only takes a couple of careless exits to scuff them up. Mike

POST 9Original post

When I had my sill off I took the opportunity to hit it with a couple coats of black Plasti-Dip. So far it's held up well. It is more textured than the original, but I like it better.
