Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi I am in the market for a CPO C2S and am currently considering a 2011. I have asked the dealer in which the car is for sale for a diagnostics test for the DME report (to check for over revs). Anyone familiar with these reports that can comment on the report? Does it look good? Thanks for any info.

POST 2Original post

That's about the cleanest over-rev report that I have ever seen. A very small number of over revs in range 1 which is no problem at all.

POST 3Original post

Overrevs go from type 1 - 6 with 6 being the most severe. Generally, overrevs in the 1 and 2 range are considered harmless. They occur normally when bouncing off of the rev limiter. Any revs in range 3 or above are cause for concern. I would still 'consider' a car with range 3-4 revs, but it would take some serious points (dollars) off of the table. Any revs in range 5-6 would be a deal breaker. I have heard of cars being CPO'd with range 4 overrevs, although I have no idea why.

POST 4Original post

Thanks for the feedback guys. So this looks good? I was having a difficult time interpreting the data. So does this mean that the car has hit rev limiter (range 1) 48 times? What does the 161.36h mean?

POST 5Original post

No. The engine had 48 spark plug ignitions when it had 161.36 hours of service, which means that it was in that range for about one hundredth of a second.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
