That's more than the msrp on my 991S (and way lower than even used Californias, as suggested earlier).

Guess the GT3 saved me from an old 911 or a slightly used Ferrari 430.

That's another car I'll wait to buy used for its price to sink

I do wish the styling were a bit more of a change but I understand wanting to keep it looking like the 997 version, etc.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Porsche has officially confirmed that it’s set to debut a new “exciting” 911 at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2013 with the new vehicle set to feature prominently alongside Porsche’s latest 911 GT3 Cup car.

I really wish there's more to the GT3 than what the pictures show... I like the front but it's the rear and spoiler that turns me off.
It could be the black color but I'm afraid the 991 looks better as a grand tourer
Carrera
than a sports GT3 car... The size here isn't helping!
PS the front bumper is still disguised in the pictures if you zoom in.
Sadly it's gonna be very expensive, taking the 991
Carrera
price in mind, and hard to justify paying for it the price of a brand new California. I know both cars are different, but still that's a Ferrari!
LOL... The Mondial sold very well and was a big success for Ferrari. I can't say that about the California.
I was referring to the big chunk of money the GT3 will cost. If not vs. California take it vs. brand new LP 550-2. Or used 599, Scuderia, Murciélago... etc. There's a long list of used cars that I'd buy before a brand new GT3 if I had the money
I can't imagine a GT3 costing as much as a new California. A used one, maybe. I could see the Turbo or Turbo S costing that much, however. Maintenance costs would be higher, but I think in that price bracket, that's just not something you care as much about.
Porsche NA says 130k, which is pretty amazing if you ask me. That's more than the msrp on my 991S (and way lower than even used Californias, as suggested earlier). I think I know what I'll be getting next year

Thank you very much for this wonderful way of starting my morning... Thank you for this level of excitement... Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Doing the math now... my banker won't be excited
That's another car I'll wait to buy used for its price to sink
I hate you Rubber Duck
A fair amount of marketing stuff there for someone not in marketing :hilarious:
Looks like they keep making it more Cayman-like every iteration, soon the engine will be in the middle... speaking of engines, wonder what this one costs. If not prohibitive I foresee some
Caymans
running around with the GT3 motor in them not too long after these engines are available...
I do wish the styling were a bit more of a change but I understand wanting to keep it looking like the 997 version, etc.
Amazing car!
PDK
only, no manual... that will spur some discussion among the purists...
Interesting detail: They have reversed the gear lever's manual operation to be like the one commonly used in race cars: pull the lever for upshift, push it for downshift. In other Porsches, it works in the opposite direction.
I like the shot of the upcoming track reflecting in the driver's eye, wonder how hard that was to get on film, or if it is just a cgi effect, but either way that was cool...
Well at 56 I guess the Alzheimer's dementia is starting early. I am trading the 09 C2S Cab in for a GT3, delivery by end of the year. Whatever its faults or strengths, the fact that I am not crazy about the gearshift or the size of the car, there's no doubt it will be a "practical" supercar that I have to experience. I told the wife it's way cheaper than a Ferrari and I am leaving everything to her in the will.
If anyone here is interested I can detail my ordering process and whatever else comes down the pike of interest.
That is amazing Dave. I am sure that the buying experience was a great one. How can signing on the dotted line for a 991 GT3 not be. I am looking forward to the pictures when the car is delivered. Btw, what colour exterior and exterior did you go with?
Congratulations again on buying an amazingly fast and beautiful race car.

Order guides aren't out for the US but Braman has 2 early slots and I have the first. I'm leaning toward white/black interior w/ some red belts. Not too fussy. I think the front lift option will be essential and a money saver in the long run.
PDK
takes away some of the purity for sure, but adds a measure of practicality that just (barely) allows me to rationalize the purchase.
I know. I have to pinch myself to prove I am not hallucinating. I was ready to sell my Cab anyway. Guess the GT3 saved me from an old 911 or a slightly used Ferrari 430. Well you only go around once they say. Car has a lot of gizmos that I think is un-GT3, but it makes the car more livable to the wife. I think you can see the engine in the GT3 and that redline, torque and HP ought to be worth a few grins. We shall see....
Today as I am walking the streets of Hong Kong I passed upon the local Porsche stealership randomly, so of course I walked right in to check it out. Boy am I glad I am just visiting. A nicely optioned Boxster S is going for $150,000 USD! That 991 GT3 sounds rather reasonable all of a sudden!
