Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

As far as Carfax is concerned, it's good to have a "clean" report, but don't let that give you a false sense of security.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

So after a year and a half I may be a few days away from my first Porsche 911. I found a 2008 997 Basalt Black C2S with 36K. It has the Terra-cotta interior full leather upgrade full power seats and sport chrono package and upgraded 19" wheel upgrade. Clean car fax one owner car and I think this is for sure the one. 6 speed manual with Bose sound moonroof etc. bought new in AZ and serviced locally. Is there any thoughts or recommendations anyone may have for me before I bite the bullet.

POST 2Original post

Do a pre-purchase inspection if you haven't already (or are buying CPO). Congrats! Looks like a great build. I love the terracotta interior.

POST 3Original post

I'll second the PPI recommendation performed by a Porsched Certified tech. When done properly, they are worth every penny that they charge you. As far as Carfax is concerned, it's good to have a "clean" report, but don't let that give you a false sense of security.

POST 4Original post

The 997.1 S is one of the great iterations of the 911 concept. Jeremy Clarkson was completely unimpressed with the 997 series - except for an S with Sport Chrono . In every other 997 911, he said, you are a fat aging man with dreams of grandeur. In the 997 911S with Sport Chrono , he declared, you are a greek god, sitting atop the world. It's a great car. I will never, ever, ever sell mine.

POST 5Original post

I am a General Sales Manager of a large dealership. I'm taking my service/body shop director with me to inspect. I see it all the time where a carfax is clean yet the car is dirty. Super excited. Dream car for sure. The question is should I leave it stock or put on a nice Agency Power exhaust and a nice body kit.

POST 6Original post

So I am buying the Porsche. Absolutely gorgeous car. The full leather in terracotta with alcantara headliner is stunning. The fiberglass pieces inside and the backs of the seats are painted basalt black as well. I won't have it till next week as the owner is waiting for his new car to arrive. My question to you guys is this. I love the basalt black. And I would like to have the 19" wheels powder coated orange much like the GT3. The mirrors painted orange and the spoiler and body kit as well. Is this frowned upon? I just love the look.

POST 7Original post

It is your car. If that is the look you want, go for it!
