Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

As far as the power, I can tell the 400 ponies want to run wild but I must practice restraint for the first 2000 miles.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'd like to introduce myself to this whole new world of Planet-9 that I never thought I would visit. I'm a former 2012 CR owner who favored the price, looks and mid-engine layout of the 987 over the 911. But, after attending the 991
launch
party, I began to see what all the hype was about. The car's curves were sexy yet classic. The interior oozed with luxury compared to my former cars which I realized I rather enjoy and could easily get used to! And the rear seats were a perfect excuse to categorize it as a family car to my wife!
After countless hours of online research and test drive in a 991S, I have traded my CR and placed my order for a 991 S due in late April. It was bitter sweet letting go of the CR, but I look forward to the new memories of the 991 S that I can share with my family and friends (who are small enough to fit in the rear seats!).
Specs:
Agate Grey
Exterior Folding Mirrors
Sport Design Steering Wheel
Parking Assist (front and rear)
Fairly stripped 991S, but I think it will suit me just fine!
List of things I want to do with the 991:
Clear Mask
Window Tint
Exhaust
(Couldn't get myself to add the
PSE
)
Road trip
Pictures to come in April!
I'm not a 991 owner, but congrats!
Also, did you listen to the
PSE
. From what I've heard, it sounds leaps and bounds better than any
PSE
that came before it. Might be worth the $cratch.
I'm looking forward to when you get your 991S and I get my 981 so that we can spend lots of time doing our Porsche sportscar thing together! You have to promise not to leave me in the dust on the straights! Yeah right, haha. Dad
I know you'll enjoy it. I recently traded my 07 CS for a 2012 991S with a 7 spd manual. It's lighly optioned but that's OK. The car is incredible. It takes you to a new level of refinement. The cabin is a bit larger but you still feel like you're in a cockpit. When you get your engine broken in and you can stomp on it through the gears, WOW!!! It's incredible. Be sure to post pictures. Enjoy:banana:
I'm curious as to whether or not dealers are discounting 991's at all. Would you mind PM-ing or posting what percentage, if any, you were able to negotiate off MSRP?
I purchased my 2012 991S in late November and at that time they had one lightly optioned car in stock. This car had been on their lot for a couple months and the 2013 models were coming in so they wanted to move it. My car had a sticker price of 108k and I was able to get it for 97k. The dealer told me they made a special deal with Porsche to make that price. My car is a 7 spd manual, sunroof, audio package, leather seats w/crest, park assist front and rear (which I really like),
PASM
, auto dimming mirrors, wheel caps w/color crest,multi-function steering wheel (also like), Platinum silver metalic, power steering plus, heated front seats. If I was to order a car with my desired options it would have been different and a whole lot more expensive but I have no regrets with what I now have and every time I drive this car, it puts a big smile on my face. I loved my 07
Cayman S
but this car takes you to a whole new level of refinement. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Good Luck!
There was a 6k dealer incentive that ended november 30 on the remaining 2012 991 inventory. With that said, you certainly did get a great deal on an amazing car. Late November was an excellent time to buy.
A low optioned 991 base (or S) is one of the best values on the planet. Congrats for keeping your head on regarding options inflation and taking advantage of the opportunity. The 991 is by far the best, most capable and comfortable 911 carerra ever. Sweet!

Update: 991 C2S build has been completed and scheduled to depart Germany on 3-15 aboard the Auriga Leader. This is my favorite part, tracking the ship across the sea!
Check with your SA. My car is currently aboard the Auriga Leader and it departed 3/7 from zeebrugge (Emden a few days before) and is currently south of the UK due into panama on 3/20.
Either you're ahead of schedule or on another boat.
Dad here. Just got word from my SA that my base Boxster is also on the Auriga Leader, loaded on March 6. My car was completed Feb 28, about a week later than Feb 20 projected date. Son (DreamR) and I ordered 8 days apart, and now our Porsches might be on the same ship!! I wonder if we might take delivery the same day then; now that would be a funny experience, although we would not be able to help each scrutinize the cars! Jon
PS this site shows the Auriga Leader today is passing the Azores:

Hey shipmate!!
Next stop appears to be the Cristobal port in panama. Have u been able to find a good webcam?
According to the port, Auriga Keader should be there 3/20; according to marine traffic it is 3/21.
The 991S is a serious step up from your R in terms of power. That should be fun. I am looking forward to hearing your impressions coming out of an R. I am having more and more days where those kinderseats would be handy.
Congrats, and best wishes for a safe passage through the canal. Sea monsters and pirates have been spotted roaming the Pacific lately, so you aren't out of the woods yet.
Just got confirmation from my SA that my car is in fact on the Auriga Leader and left ahead of schedule! This is good news! That makes three of us here on the same boat!
I took a week off in April when it is scheduled to arrive at the dealership. Hope I predicted the correct week!
It's here! Picked it up yesterday and what an experience! Only good things to say. Here is a pic of the car at the entrance of the dealership show room. More details to come...
So far, this car has been nothing but awesome. The ride is smooth, it has a bunch of gadgets I like (navigation, 40 gig hard drive for mp3, retractable spoiler, and more), looks elegant, and has a decent growl of an
exhaust
note. I am interested in retro fitting a
PSE
in the future though. As far as the power, I can tell the 400 ponies want to run wild but I must practice restraint for the first 2000 miles. Painful.
Thanks! I've already got ~620 miles on it in less than two months! That is a record for me. The 2012 CR I traded in had 2000 miles after 13 months. Very fun and I'm learning to just relax and enjoy driving the car. I'm a bit OCD with my cars ...
