Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Haven't regretted it (apart from probably the fact the 4.99 price is now 2.50 AFAIK).

Plus, needing to find suitable 'premium' fuel and heeding the generalised antipathy towards the BP product means I am spending far too much of my life looking for Tesco filling stations.
Leading evidence: 'fact the 4.99 price is now 2.50 afaik)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'fact the 4.99 price is now 2.50 afaik)' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill stations' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

No complaints (ok, sometimes petrol stations change price overnight, but to be honest there is almost no way to collect this data before the station reopens).

You can still use free website, but if I am already in the car I use the iPhone (plus the GPS means you dint actually need to know what the nearest town is etc etc).
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Bear in mind I have arrived here from the world of the diesel X-Type. Six hundred miles between fills; the 996 is coming as something of a shock.

To aid this the inbuilt satnav in the PCM is worse than useless, and I now find myself carrying around in my car the Garmin Nuvi that used to be fixed to the Jaguar's screen for the specific purpose of feeding me info on the nearest Tesco.
"Consider the range... etc"
Oh! Here we go again.
GT4 - I was looking at petrol apps this morning. Do you find the one in your post really works? The AA one gets slated, at £5. Then there are some free ones that require users to contribute, which obviously needs critical mass for then to work.
The PetrolPrices data is NOT dependent on users updating the prices.
It is automated sampling using fuelcard data.
If a company car user buy petrol, at midnight the card data is downloaded to PP. So given the 10s of thousands transactions, almost all stations are updated with no more than 24 hours lag.
The site is free to use (via conventional web browser). This app simply adds the GPS location functionality and indeed plots and offers directions via Google maps and the fact it logs in automatically as a native app with the normal graphics and control advantages.
I had used it for 18 months for free via PC or clunkier Safari (iPhone) browser. No complaints (ok, sometimes petrol stations change price overnight, but to be honest there is almost no way to collect this data before the station reopens).

I pestered them when they would implement iPhone app. Initially an industrious Scottish student created an interface app to parse registered users free acccess from the PP server data to their app (which I bought). However, once PP had their own app he was removed. As a registered user they emailed me an app store linky and I bought it on its release day.
Haven't regretted it (apart from probably the fact the 4.99 price is now 2.50 AFAIK). But it saves me 60-200p per fill, so not too bothered.
If nothing more, if you are in a low density area (the countryside!), it shows you the nearest petrol station, which might be a life saver.
Also, anyone with LPG (gas) conversions will appreciate the location function even in town.
There does appear to be one quirk, if the GPS fails to lock onto a satellite before app "timeout" (or sampling window), the auto-locate can be a bit mental (every so often north Herts is apparently Aylesbury, Bucks!).
The way round this is either simply having used the GPS recently (ie Google maps etc) - so locked satellite is still in range.
Or just terminate and re-start app.
The second initiation always locks onto the nearest satellite.
Using the GPS indoors is hit and miss, as you would expect.
By the way, you can still enter manual town or postcode address. This means you can either advise other people remotely where they can fill up, or plan your journey or end point via a cheap petrol station.
Of course the autolocate can only advise local stations to the actual iPhone (up to 20 miles radius)
