Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

24 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got an order and deposit in a few weeks ago. Has anyone else done that yet?

POST 2Original post

Got a LoI in, if that's worth the paper it's written on. Deposit can be switched from another order but..... .... it's all going to depend on how many they are making and we don't know that just yet.

POST 3Original post

Ordered and deposit paid a few weeks ago. No1 at my OPC and have this confirmed! Can't wait to get my hands on it. Edited by ituned on Wednesday 1st April 09:26

POST 6Original post

does not excite me that much, sort of in between the 987.2 spyder and the GT4 but not as good as either. OK if you just one 1 nice usable car, just has a few short comings over a 987.2 Spyder or a GT4. like any car if you only want 1 you have to cut back on other items. So not a good a track/focused car as a GT4 and not as raw stripped out as the 987.2 SPyder or as light ! plus it has a ugly butt lol. nice car all the same, but not for me.

POST 7Original post

To me it's a massive improvement on the old model looks and hopefully performance wise. However I will nt comment on its drive ability until after a decent test drive. As an overall package I will stick with my CGTS for now.

POST 8Original post

current response is not dissimilar to response when 987 Spyder was announced

POST 9Original post

How limited is it likely to be? Porsche website doesn't have a configurator they say contact your dealer.

POST 11Original post

With heavy heart , withdrew my LOI today. No PDK did it for me. Nice car though but going manual would be a compromise for me and I don't think I should compromise on such a significant purchase. Good luck to all you "manual boys" though. I hope you get/enjoy the cars. (Left LOI in for potential PDK option though - wishful thinking!!!)

POST 12Original post

I have had a LOI in since last march , but car is dearer than i expected .thought it was gonna be a 3.4l. Cant get the man maths past the Mrs . 1 last try tonight , wish me luck!

POST 13Original post

Won't be rushing to the dealer... The 987 Spyder is safe. And it is quite some price once optioned up, which I could not afford anyway, so really it is quite an easy decision! But if I did, at the moment my ideal spec would be; http://www.porsche-code.com/PGKYW8D7

POST 14Original post

What interests me is the grunt, and I notice the words 'shorter throw' and 'more direct steering' are used. That's an extra 45 bhp and 50 N/mm. In every other respect I would rather have a GTS. The weight saving is fairly modest when you consider that they have fitted the lightweight seats, eliminated the roof motor and binned the AC. I would expect to achieve better by taking a manual GTS and fitting sports lightweights and PCCB. nevertheless, that engine will make it an epic car to drive. All in all I think Porsche should be congratulated for producing a serious sports car. Edited by cardigankid on Wednesday 1st April 19:42

POST 19Original post

Its hard to judge how popular the new Spyder is going to be. Once out, will you be able to pick one up or will they all be at a premium, come July!? Or maybe they will lose 10k as soon as you leave your OPC!

POST 20Original post

I posted this in general gassing buy maybe better here. I had a LOI in for the GT4 and did the whole deposit thing on launch day but like others, couldn't secure a car for this year or next so got my deposit back. Are mere mortals likely to be able to bag one of these, or is it the same deal and I'm already too late? Anyone in a similar position speak to an OPC today?

POST 21Original post

I might be tempted. I'll be selling the CR soon as I've just bought a building plot so most of my time/money over the next 12 months or so has been accounted for. When that's done though I'm going to need a new toy and this would fit the bill nicely

POST 23Original post

Has anybody ordered a spyder? Am really considering it, been dreaming of the gt4 which appears to be an impossibility to get one. This looks the closest compromise. Really want to see more colours and attest a review of somekind 😖😖
