Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Run 2' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run 2' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Bit rusty after a few years out and plenty of room for improvement
Was only there for about 50mins and didn't get to see the slips until the end. Wasn't chasing anything, just had some heads up fun and some close races. [Cool]
Slippery and bouncy off the line, 25psi in the tyres.
If I could hook up a decent launch it would be capable of mid 11s.
Clutch has been slipping in top gears on the road, but doubt if it had any impact on times.
I've got vids of more or less all the runs, but can't upload just yet as it's all on micro SD and only have an SD card reader.
Looking forward to Sunday now [Smile]
Not bad times at all. From the terminal speeds, with a decent launch you should see a lowish 11.
Even a very achievable 1.6s 60ft time would see about 0.8 seconds off your time.....
I think you need to get your car checked out properly mate... The one thing that the 911 is supposed to do best is get off the line - that's the entire point of the rear engine layout!
Even a standard 996 Turbo probably has a higher power to weight ratio than your "lightly-modded" Impreza, so either you ain't driving it right, or something's wrong (clutch slip won't help  )
Funny Guy. What 60ft times can be consistently recorded on a drag surface according to you? By simply having 4WD does not equal a great ability to get off the line. I suspect it could be quicker as RWD and eliminate the wheel hop.
With the loading, I doubt the clutch slipped on the runs, and certainly wouldn't affect the 60ft times
The terminals show my 996 has superior power:weight than the Impreza. I think the terminals look pretty good for a baby K16 equipped car.
OK, I won't bother trying to be helpful as you clearly have a downer on your 996 Turbo. The only thing consistent in your postings on here is your disappointment with the performance of the car compared to your 'chavvy' Scooby.
Unless I am very much mistaken, the Impreza is also 4WD, so you can hardly blame that on the Turbo's performance off the line: In fact the 996 is MUCH closer to the RWD layout that you think would be better, as only 5% of the torque goes to the front wheels until a rear wheel starts slipping.
It was you that said your clutch was slipping, not me, and if it is ever slipping, in any gear, at any speed, it's fooked.... So utterly pointless trying to get realistic performance measures until it's fixed. But then, maybe you don't WANT it to be better than your beloved Scooby? :hand:
Can't be bothered to reply to you any more and FWIW, I can't think of anything more pointless than drag racing in a production car, so I really don't give a flying **** what the standing quarter or 60ft time is for my car, to be honest - and I doubt that anyone at Zuffenhausen would be any more interested either: If that is what you think a Porsche is all about, I fear you have missed the point entirely.
You've obviously got the wrong end of the stick (or issues).
I want nothing more than the 996 TT to be able to just turn up to the strip and run mid 11s. If you think all Imprezas are just chavvy, I feel sorry for your stuck up opinion and you're clearly not a petrol head.
As for clutch slip, the loading on the road when it slips is highly unlikely on the strip.
There are people that sit on internet forums commenting randomly on stuff and then there are true petrol heads that have the technical knowledge and actually go out there to see what their cars can do rather than quoting someone else's achievements or magazine figures.
Glad that you're going to stop posting snobby, non-technical comments with nothing to back anything up. Good day to you sir. :bye:
What I am interested in is what people are actually getting on the 60ft and with what tyres. From reading up, these cars seem to have a bit of a problem with "wheel hop" on drag starts.
:thumb:
6speeders seems a better place for technical know how and for people that are actually going out there to see what the cars can do.
30-130mph and top speed on the weekend. Dyno shows 7000RPM, not sure where the limiter kicks in, hopefully have enough for the top speed run
Terminals seem to suggest good power for the level of tune, so we'll see how it gets on.
Bob, Getting 123mph on K16's isn't bad at all.... the fastest qtr ever done that I know of on an X50 by a magazine was a 120mph 11.9s run by I think Motor Trend. Get a 60-130 also and we'll be able to get a ballpark idea of what hp you're currently at... I'd guess you're somewhere close to 500hp based on your trap time tho.
I don't suppose you managed to get any 0-60 or 0-100 times during your runs did you (just in case you have a vbox) ?
No Vbox onboard, but will have on the weekend, so lots more data then.
On the drag run it hit 96.92MPH in 8.14secs.
A fair bit more to come out of her by the looks of it. :thumb:
Looking at my own logs of accelerating bet 90-100mph I figure your 100mph time would be pretty much 8.5secs dead on for that drag run.
Would be interesting to know your 60 time tho and thus your 60-100mph time with 1 shift. Could then provide some comparisons I've clocked from different cars using my vbox.
Feel free to PM me your vbox times if you wanna compare data once you've done your runs.
