Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I bought new studs, nuts, washers and the 4 sealing rings/gaskets when I changed my exhaust and if I remember correctly that little lot came to about £175 from Porsche, In the end I only needed the nuts , washers and larger 2 rings.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Guys, on a related point Im going to get a Carnewal TT exhaust and fit it myself. Will replace the nuts and studs while Im at it.
What is the position with gaskets? Should these be retained or replaced too?
No doubt the dearest slivers of metal this side of a jewellers
Does anyone here recommend using the addition of exhaust pastes etc between the joints as well as gaskets? Or just sand the faces and use the gaskets.
I bought new studs, nuts, washers and the 4 sealing rings/gaskets when I changed my exhaust and if I remember correctly that little lot came to about £175 from Porsche, In the end I only needed the nuts , washers and larger 2 rings. The old nuts also looked like blobs of rust and just crumbled away when undone, I used a thread chaser and the studs were like new afterwards, they are made of a much tougher material than the nuts. Still got the studs and rings if anyone wants to buy them!
Another tip is to start soaking the nuts with WD40 for a few days before you start.
i wouldn't use exhaust paste personally. Remember back in the scoob days hearing about a fella who knackered 3 lambdas sensors before finding out it was the exhaust paste he was using (that he didn't need to use) on his SS downpipe flanges that was causing the problem
Thanks for the respons guys have lined up some snainless nuts and hope the manifold studs are ok and dont snap! doing the job on wendnesday evening so may be in need of more help if thinds go bad

Much better than even stainless and certainly wont rust.
