Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am not sure if the PCCBs make a car worth more so maybe its best to use them and if they wear out just replace with steels then.

I have no real knowledge of anything so exotic, my 996 having just your everyday metal jobbies, but a quick forum search indicates you are looking at £6,000 the set (If I read it correctly) but with the sensible option of taking the originals off now and replacing them when you sell it on at just over the £1,000

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know they will cost an absolute fortune as and when they are shot - apparently I can change them back to normal steel brakes.
Hi guys
Need some help pleaase!!!! I am about to take the plunge with my first 911. I have been looking for a while now (for me anyway!) and have found the following car:
996 C4S
2004 (54 plate)
34k miles
Ceramics
guards red
Sat nav
FF sunroof
Service 1,000 miles ago
crested seats
switable exhaust (FF)
phone prep
3 owners
standard seats
It can be mine under for 30k. It sounds the right money to me and love the look at it...please advise!!!
Thanks.
As long as it comes with a full service history through reputable OPC or specialist and it passes a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) then somewhere in the £26,000 to £28,000 bracket seems to be where the market is today
Hi Rob
Its just had 4 new bridgestones and has full OPC history until last year and now specialist history since.
My only real concern is the PCCB's. I know they will cost an absolute fortune as and when they are shot - apparently I can change them back to normal steel brakes. Do you have any idea what new PCCb pads are and worst case what about the discs? Is it true I can simpy go back to "normal" brakes?
Thanks

Cheers Rob, there were some handbags coming out in that thread!! £3,000 each is a bit steep!! I am not sure if the PCCBs make a car worth more so maybe its best to use them and if they wear out just replace with steels then.
i think i will go for it, it does look the nuts!!
I'm only a few weeks ahead of you in the 996 ownership stakes, and like you I agonised for a while.
But those few weeks in all doubts have gone. It is a truly great car.
Do it! You won't be sorry. (But do spend out on the PPI, don't let enthusiasm overtake judgement.)
