Did a search and would like to do this repair my self. wondering where you all suggest getting replacement material?
i would like to keep the headliner looking as stock as possible. So not interested in suede or alcantara...
Does someone make a real close copy without having to go to factory expense.. if the color is even still available thru the factory.
Thanks
I have a sand beige headliner that had the dreaded sag. What I did after an exhaustive search ( outside of
porsche
OEM) to find a suitable match was I went to a local car upholsterer and looked at his many books and swatches to find a match, they then ordered it for me . I little more expensive that way but I could look at real samples in the catalogs of many different vendors . It been awhile so I cant tell you the vendor , but the match is nearly spot on
You can get an OEM sand beige headliner from
Porsche
for around $1,300 as info
the factory headliner seems a bit expensive to me at this point. figured maybe i would try to do it myself first. i have found a product from Headliner Magic that says it is sand beige. has anyone else tried this product?
At this point the headliner is out and i am in the process of cleaning the foam and glue off.
Trim came off as expected after info from articles and you tube. the clean up is a bit of a pain. Will finish it tomorrow.
ahhh...If you ever want to sell that Alfa please remember me and this post sir!
all finished except a few more paint touchups on the trim. Can't touch that trim with anything that it doesn't knock off one paint. fortunately i got the paint someone on here suggested from Home Depot for sand beige.
ended up going to a local upholstery shop to pick out the material. can't say it was a great matchbox once it is up, really looks fine. bought enough extra to be able to do the hatch at some point when it needs to be done. then all will match from the same lot...

while i had it out i took the opportunity to add a little extra insulation in the roof. black car in the summer is tough. probably won't help a lot with heat but i feel it does help with road noise.
Thanks all.
