Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Unless the tire installer installed them incorrectly (though I can't imagine that, I'll have to have them removed and tested).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Just got a new set of rims and need to buy new TPMS sensors . 2008 Cayman S . Looking on line denotes both options for 315 and 433 MHz sensors. What is the best way to know for sure? Does looking at the TPMS control unit help? I really don't want to pop the bead to look. Thoughts?

POST 2Original post

All factory delivered cars to the US have 433 MHz TPMS .

POST 3Original post

This is not correct. During MY08 Porsche shipped both 315 and 433 to North America. According to Huf (who makes the OEM Porsche TPMS ) testing your Key Fob frequency will tell you what freq your TPC uses. I am trying to locate some internet confirmation in 'writing' but the bottom line is: don't assume it's 433. I'm dealing with inconvenience because the new 433's in my car (Huf) are not working.

POST 4Original post

Actually it is correct. I've been informed by Porsche , that the US, which is what I stated (not North America) was 433 mhz. My comment was for the US. I see you're in Canada and that may be different. The US had 433 only in 2008 and I believe other years as well. And I've had 3 sets from 3 different suppliers and that's what I was told by them as well, and what worked each time.

POST 5Original post

Yes, I'm in Canada but the car was delivered to Tennessee, from Germany and sold from there. I can't imagine I have 4 correct, but flawed sensors that are not detectable by a 3rd party tool. Unless the tire installer installed them incorrectly (though I can't imagine that, I'll have to have them removed and tested). I'll have to decide on my next steps. Thanks!

POST 6Original post

I end up using the 433 ones in the 2008CS. No issues.

POST 7Original post

So after going through all of the vehicle options with the TPMS tool, it appears that even though I specifically purchased RDE001 Huf 433Mhz sensors, I was actually sent sensors for a 2016 Boxster (as opposed to 2008). Naturally, these aren't going to get picked up be the computer. Thanks Amazon (unfortunately we don't have a TPMS .com here).

POST 8Original post

Very annoying. But this quality of service seems to be the new world normal. They should not only replace your sensors but refund your money to pay for your aggravation. Thanks for the update.

POST 9Original post

I had to phone Amazon to refund me the money. They eventually did and let me keep the sensors, however I can't buy a 2016 Boxster ... that is definitely off the table 😂
