In the end it turned out to be a faulty varicam solenoid on cylinders 4-6, which in turn blown the fuse that feeds the ECU, this also caused damage to local wiring :nooo:

Anyway, what I'm saying is that Richard/RSR Autotech did a great job at a fair price and I'm happy to recommend him to anyone needing service or any other type of work.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

1st of all I just wanted to say thanks to all who helped me sort out my recent problem http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=51913&highlight=ecu+blows+fuse In the end it turned out to be a faulty varicam solenoid on cylinders 4-6, which in turn blown the fuse that feeds the ECU, this also caused damage to local wiring :nooo: After taking advice from Llyod Six I took the car over to Richard at RSR Autotech and had the solenoid replaced along with a full service including serpentine belt, fuel filter, plugs and mobile1 etc.. total cost for this was less than originally quoted for the replacement ECU Anyway, what I'm saying is that Richard/RSR Autotech did a great job at a fair price and I'm happy to recommend him to anyone needing service or any other type of work. Kosmo

POST 2Original post

Great to hear you are happy with the end result, all sorted and fully serviced under the original quote for an ECU (which would not have sorted it anyway!) <Not blowing my trumpet here> Good job I got involved and challenged the diagnosis.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, very happy with the work Richard did and again thanks for your input :thumb:
