I looked at the current prices for used Boxter Ss in Panorama and depreciation for these cars averaged 7%, per year after two yeas, however, I think Poreche will make less Caymans.....I hear only 4000 are comming to the US in 2006.
Leading evidence: 'Use boxter ss in panorama and depreciation' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'dumb question' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace are planned' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Suspected cause
Probably a dumb question, but I am getting good at that, of course SF usually saves me.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I still havnt ordered my Cayman yet. Im planning on ordering one this April so it will arrive for my 20th birthday (4th of July).
So just out of couriosity, who paid full MSRP for their Cayman, who brought down the price, and if you did, how much were you able to bring it down by? Thanks
My local M-B dealeris knocking $3,000 off the sticker for SLKs [introduced 12 months ago and considered a direct competitor to the Cayman], pre-negotiated. Considering that there is at least $7,500 of dealer profit in the Cayman, $3,000 off the MSRP seems like a fair deal for both the Porsche dealer and the Cayman buyer.
I think most of us paid full MSRP. I asked and he said not a chance, and I guess I gave in too easy at least according to The Ferrett! Where is The Ferrett anyway?

Mine is less than MSRP but I'm not allowed to say how much less and the dealer would not do the same deal for others or so I am told, although I know they've discounted something on a couple of others.
Ahhhh yes, the Ferrett......I was thinking of him the other day......Mr. $8k off MSRP I think it was.......he was fun though.
Around my neck of the woods it's was MSRP or the next person on the list. I'm sure it won't be that long till regular discounts are available, just not for the first group of build dates around here.
Thanks for the response guys. I think I might be able to get something off the MSRP around late spring/early summer.. BTW invoice is around 8k less than MSRP for the cayman
I think it's worth nothing whether you guys had financed for the Cayman or paid cash in order to get the discounts or not get the discounts. If you are financing, what rates are the dealerships or private institutions giving you?
Sounds like financing to me since 72 months is 6 years. It's probably 5% for 6 years, and after that you have to pay off the entire balance or sell it back to the dealership. Either way, 5% sounds like a good deal.

mpollard,
Great question. I would love to know what if any changes are planned for the next year Cayman. So if MSRP now is $58,900 I would have to believe that there would be a 5% to 7% increase, so MSRP in 2007 should or could be $ 61,845 minimum.
FWIW, Russ
The above is I am buying the car and the Credit Union gave me financing for 72 mos. at 5% interest. I will have paid off the car at the end of the loan. Then (as I usually do) I will keep the car for many many years.
Don't mean to change the subject, but how much depreciation do you guys think we will get hit with overthe first3 or4 years? I'm thinking 5% per year.../fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/whatchutalkingabout_smile.gif
Try 20-25% the first year and 10-15% per year after that. Trust me Porshe will build these cars and plenty of them to supply the capital for future products. Don't let the dealers bs you on this. This is a car just a car we are buying to show off and have fun driving. Don't let our emotions fool our good sense..
I looked at the current prices for used Boxter Ss in Panorama and depreciation for these cars averaged 7%, per year after two yeas, however, I think Poreche will make less Caymans.....I hear only 4000 are comming to the US in 2006. That's about 80 per state!
I hope your right, but don't think that to be the case. Let's wait and see the residual guides show from Porsche Finance. If your correct a 36 month lease will have a 79% residual? when in reality they will place a 48-50% value and that's not real street value either. Don't get me wrong I would love for them to hold their value and keep production down but my business sense says no. They have a machine to feed and produce future models IE: Panorama and the 2010 all new 911.
Patch,
You might right, if the residual value is only 47% of the cost, on a 70K car after 4 years it would be worth only $32,900! That averages out to $9,275 depreciation per year.
Russ
I only got $500.00 knocked off of my Nov car. Then changed to paint to sample. I will be asking for more of a discount because my car will probably be a 2007, hopefully the line will not be as long.
