Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Last year we got 996 fitted inc VAT for around £1450 and 997 for £1350.
Leading evidence: 'Install inc vat' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best one' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install inc vat' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
All I can say, having read all the feedbacks from owners in the forum, the PSE is probably the best one to get.

I was just bored and wondered what it would set me back.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i'm in the process of gettng another group buy together (got one last year for the 996 but now got 997 without) and i will post a thread with all costs soon. having said that, the OPC already warned me that for some reason only known to porsche they've ramped 996 PSE cost enormously!! Waiting for exact prices but might be worth going with the offer from porscheshop in this forum?will post soon, cheers
£3000. Three large. Three K. £2k short of a Fiat Panda Eco!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to point out that this was only an enquiry and (thank God) I'm more than happy with the way my original factory exhaust sounds. I was just bored and wondered what it would set me back.
Needless to say, if I do find myself growing tired of the way my current exhaust sounds (not likely) I'll either:
a. Buy a Fab Speed one (or similar) or
b. Drive with the window down making deep growling noises when I accelerate! :thumb:
That's just ridiculous.
They can't even argue it's exchange-rate driven either.
If a group buy comes up with sub-2k all in, fitted, count me in.
If someone finds an OPC willing to offer them at around 1.5k, I'll buy them a nice bottle of bollinger.
Edited to say: the 911uk member, not the OPC!
How do I claim the Bollinger?
My OPC is quoting c£1390 + vat (that includes fitting) less if there are two or three of you interested. I put a PSE on my old 996 and it transformed the driving pleasure. Shame I can't put one on the turbo.
Is the PSE system the same for the 996TT as a c2?
If you can get me one for that, you're welcome to the bollinger.
Where abouts is the OPC in question?
PSE prices
Hi! I paid around £2000 (VAT and all day fitting) at my independent specialist. I know some people have quoted £1500 all in, even from an OPC.
All I can say, having read all the feedbacks from owners in the forum, the PSE is probably the best one to get. The noise is awesome and if you are feeling a bit guilty waking up neighbours early hours, or late, the switch to "quiet" mode is welcome, though I leave mine on most of the time. (When the car is started, it's always in loud mode, even though you may have previoulsly left it in "quiet" mode when you switched the engine off).
Today, I followed a 997 C4S for a short distance, and when he booted it, there was no real noise....mmmmm, boring, I thought. Needed a PSE for sure.
Best of luck, whatever you decide.
Hi all,
was hoping to arrange another group buy for PSE following the one i sorted last year.
Unfortunately as you've seen on other threads, the prices have skyrocketed for no apparent or logical reason - aside from usual porsche profiteering.
Last year we got 996 fitted inc VAT for around £1450 and 997 for £1350. The discounted price I've now been quoted from same OPC (so he knows he could get 6 or more systems flogged)
is now £3640 and £1870
Could whoever mentioned that they could get them for £1500 shout! Dave?
