We picked up our 987 three months ago and I was surprised to find out it did not come with a spare tire. Since then I was surprised again when I found out it did not have a jack or lug wrench. I guess I didn't do my homework there. Does anybody have any good or bad tales to tell about flat tires? I picked up a couple of large cans of Fix a Flat as I don't want to trust the almost 20 year old Porsche can in the trunk. I have read the old materials of the slime goo used way back then are highly flammable and the new Fix a Flat is not. I also want to replace the rusty old lug bolts with new nice ones.
Tom, supposed to clean up easier, I don't know because I've been lucky in regard to flats. There are a variety of aftermarket lugs. PS I'd buy a second screw in tire balancing post, it's far more stable than one. With one it's easy to slip and chip a caliper, I almost did with the 986.

I have a tire plug kit in my frunk
I reciently had a flat however my car was in the garage so I jacked it up and took off the wheel and took it to the dealer.
As far as tire stories when I bought my car 2 months ago as a CPO I made the dealership include a Porsche Wheel and Tire Package.
When I took the wheel and tire to the dealer they had a tire however the tire on my car was over 6 years old as was the other front tire.
So the dealership had to replace both front tires as they didn’t meet CPO requirements.
Dealer had changed the rear tires when CPOed the car but not the fronts as the fronts looked new but they were over 6 years old.
Long story short I got 2 new tires to match the rears at No Charge!!!!
Didn’t have to pay the $50.00 dollar deductible.
I had my buddy Andrew Jackson take all involved to
lunch he is a great guy to get stuff done.
So getting a flat did me a favor 🤣
I had my buddy Andrew Jackson take all involved to lunch

So oatmeal for everyone! Hey it's heart heathy. I'm just joking, I'm going to get the Pilot SS tires tomorrow and a generous "don't scratch the wheels" muffin assortment is going with me. Cannot turn down the discount tire deal, it was hundreds less than the competition and they have a hunter road force balancer.
I think you have my friend confused with the Quaker Oaks dude.
People in Florida don’t tip when you give a Jackson to someone down here it’s like they hit the lottery.
Better be some great muffins 😱
You stated all involved to lunch, that's all I was remarking about. Muffins are better than just showing up and in most shops a welcome addition at coffee break, both are correct gestures either way. You bring 18 large Costco units so there's no fighting and it keeps the cost down.
