Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Oil in general area around oil filter cup, will check it out in the morning. I am new to this, I have a 2006 Boxster, So far really great to drive.

POST 2Original post

It has an O ring at it's top below the screw threads which sits in it's own discreet channel. This is supposed to be changed with each new cartridge, assuming the cannister is not cracked or otherwise compromised it's something to check. You should also look above and at angles to said housing to determine whether the oil is flowing from another place and accumulating at the filter cartridge. You can buy a new assembly with cartridge from FCP Euro and they will replace it free when needed, something to consider. This way you eliminate that assembly and follow Porsche guidelines at the same time. Lastly, make sure to check and keep the oil within Porsche specification for running level while you locate the leak, this is key.

POST 3Original post

Hopefully just not installed right enough by the last “changer”. On option is to replace it with an LN Engineering spin-on attachment. Shawn in VA (USA)
