Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Being somewhat a purist, I change the pads on one side but do not torque the wheel bolts so that they are easy to remove when I come back to that side to bleed the brakes.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Any reason you can't bleed brakes one at a time during pad replacement. In other words replace right rear pads, bleed brakes on right rear & then go to left rear. Am using Motive Power Extractor.

POST 2Original post

Sure, why not. Push the pistons all the way back (into the calipers) to ensure you get all the fluid out.

POST 4Original post

When you think about it having the pistons all the way back into the bore makes sense. It reduces on of the places a bubble can hide. I would envision removing the old pads inserting the new ones and then locking the new set against the caliper. Maybe insert a taper like a screwdriver blade. When you are finished with that corner remove the taper and continue. Don't forget the obvious, pump the pedal prior to driving off.

POST 5Original post

The only drawback I see is is when you spread the pads, you mash old fluid into the reservoir to mix with the new fluid. Being somewhat a purist, I change the pads on one side but do not torque the wheel bolts so that they are easy to remove when I come back to that side to bleed the brakes.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
