Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2000 Boxster S with a small leak around my right output axle at the case, maybe. I want to check and add fluid and I assume it is going to be under the car. Just did the brakes when I saw the oil residue next to the inner boot. So, I what do I look for. JB :ah: PS: Has anyone tackled this repair before so I know what to expect.

POST 2Original post

Gear box and diff share the same oil, so check the gear box level.

POST 3Original post

Manual or TipS? The TipS does NOT share it's fluid with the diff/final drive, nor does it have a drain plug, though it has a fill. Pull the cover to drain - replace cover w/ new gasket and fill with gear lube, not ATF.
