Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Walkin' out to my car today and something just doesn't look right with the front driver's side wheel. Upon further inspection I noticed that the Porsche crest has popped out of the center cap. The center cap is still in place, just the logo is missing... I can see the glue on there.. Is there anywhere I can buy just the logo insert to replace it or am I going to have to buy a whole center cap? (and a puller I presume.. ugh) anyone have one layin around?

POST 2Original post

same thing happened to me. You need to replace the whole center cap. I ordered mine from Pelican Parts as the dealership would only sell me a set of 4 at nearly $400. ugh. It was much cheaper through Pelican Parts. Beware of immitation ones through ebay though.

POST 4Original post

Found set of 4 on Ebay for 65.00 and thier better than the cheap plastic ones that come stock on car .I was amazed when i replaced mine just how cheap factory porsche plastic was .

POST 6Original post

Does anyone know where you can pick up chrome or polished center caps?

POST 7Original post

I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. I heard a bang on the freeway at 75MPH and looked in the rear view mirror just in time to see the little Porsche crest flying away. Luckily, I have a spare set of center caps because I bought a second set of rims. The center caps are easy to get off with a wire hanger, there is no need for a special tool. Just bend the wire so it has two 1/2" feet pointing in the same direction, insert them into the holes, and pull, the cap will pop off. Good luck getting it fixed, and if you find someone that sells just the crest let me know.

POST 8Original post

Four or five years ago I bought a replacement crest on eBay for one I was missing (kid took it or it just fell off?)...cost was around $20 and it was made in Germany; perfect match. I epoxied it on and it's never coming off. I used to have all sorts of problems with kids taking valve stems and such from my cars when they weren't garage kept out of state.
