Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Guys: Media test drives of the 991 Turbo are underway. I will be on the launch in Europe on Tuesday, Aug. 27. Any questions you would like to ask, please post them here and I will do my best to get them answered, or to answer them myself based on driving the car. Can't promise I can address them all or ask them all, depending on how many replies this thread gets, but your input is welcome. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

The biggest question I have is "Is it worth the money?" Compared to other Porsches. Compared to other sports cars on the market today. Is it still special? Has is become too GT? Is it too numb? Get your hands on the original Turbo and run the numbers. 50 years of the 911 and 30 years of the Turbo. Pretty amazing advances. Seems ripe for a summing up. I know these are not particularly clever. EDIT: Clearly I did not read your post very clear...LOL. I was thinking in terms of an article being written. I was tired. That is my excuse.

POST 3Original post

I think the Turbo is becoming more viable with the ever-increasing price tag for the Carrera S... My questions are: 1. What Turbo-specific options will there be (that are unavailable on the Carrera and its variants)? Such as Turbo-only interior color or bi-color options. 2. Will Turbo model features make its way to the Carrera - like the deploying front spoiler? 3. Will the GT3 version of the PDK become available? 4. Will there be a 30th anniversary model Turbo similar to the 50th anniversary 911?

POST 5Original post

1) Who does PAG see as their typical Turbo customer? Do they envision the car as mainly street or track use? Will it continue to be just a 991 with turbo, or are there other characteristics to distinguish it from the 911? 2) Will there be a stick option, or is the Turbo going the way of the GT3? 3) Will there be a standard tire, a la Michelin PSC's on the GT3? 4) And, unrelated to the Turbo... will PAG get Michelin Pilot SS's certified for OEM tires on future Porsches? Thanks, Mac- I appreciate the input. John

POST 6Original post

There already is a Turbo S. I saw a cabriolet one on the shrowroom floor at the Momentum Porsche dealership in Houston.

POST 7Original post

How about asking if PAG can give firm timing for US market availability of optional sport bucket seats? Would be of interest to prospective buyers of other models too. Thanks

POST 8Original post

I'd like to hear about the rear wheel steering in general and the weight it adds and the actual mechanical parts. I'd also like to know how they are dealing with the added brake wear of PTV and if the rear wheel steering alleviates any of that. Thanks.

POST 10Original post

Not exactly Turbo-specific, but I'd like to see the sales breakdown of the main 911 variants by market...Base and S (2wd and awd versions) vs. Turbo vs. GT3 vs. GT2. My suspicion is the Turbo represents a larger percentage of 911 sales in North America than in other markets, and the few buyers in China that want 911s are happy with Base or S or go straight to the GTs.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
