Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all I've got a 53 plate 996 C4S. About a year ago, I put about £20 in an almost empty tank and it failed to register on the fuel gauge. I put another £10 in and it jumped up to the expected level. A month or so went by and the same thing happened again, but this time with an initial £30 worth. This became a regular, but infrequent issue until I put a full tank in about 6 weeks ago and it didn't register. I've not gone far since, but each time I jump in the car, I fill it to the top, but still the gauge shows as empty. I realise this is probably a sticky sender float, but not sure what to do about it. Can anybody point on a photo to where I need to look? One thread I've seen said to thump it, while another said to take it apart, clean and assemble. Any ideas? Cheers Dave
