As far as the check lamp goes, I have a factory fixed rear spoiler and it still has the check lamp light and then go out once 7kph/4mph exceeded.

Currently I don't own a spoiler on the back of my carrera 4, If I were to purchase one (original Porsche item) I'd have to disconnect the speed activated boot lid spoiler.

Currently I don't own a spoiler on the back of my carrera 4, If I were to purchase one (original Porsche item) I'd have to disconnect the speed activated boot lid spoiler. So my question is... wouldn't this leave my deployment warning light constantly lit on my dash ? Would a trip to OPC be needed ?

Some form of shunt or resistor would need to be installed in the loop I would guess (ie a terminator or reflector). As far as the check lamp goes, I have a factory fixed rear spoiler and it still has the check lamp light and then go out once 7kph/4mph exceeded. So somewhere (ie the engine compartment) there is almost certainly a dummy sensor clamped at 12v or earth. Sorry I can't be DIY helpful.

You either need the plug-in harness to replace the plug-in that is there in the drivers side corner of the engine compartment. Available from porsche dealership 996 612 070 51 OR if you search you can find the pin out diagram for the harness you have and put a short across two pins. Depends on how confident you are fiddling with electrics.

I bought the harness from Porscheshop so I could restore to original easily, although the price seems to have gone up a bit since!
