This is not a probability of success.

I realise this is only a slight temp increase but just wanted to check with the more informed amongst you!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, Normally the temp gauge on my C4S stays rock solid at just a tiny smidgen above the 80 mark. Today after a bit of blast, to the Midlands Breakfast Club and back, I noticed it started to creep up and stay around the centre of the 0 on the 80 mark when sat in slow moving/stationary traffic. I have never noticed the gauge moving at all really once warmed up to operating temp-could it be due to the lovely weather we are having?? Outside temp was around 17 degrees. Once back on the open roads the gauge moved back to its normal position. I realise this is only a slight temp increase but just wanted to check with the more informed amongst you! Coolant level is all normal no visible leaks or steam coming from anywhere! Sorry that my first posts on the forum seem to be very paranoid!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Both, Thanks for putting my mind at rest!

POST 5Original post

+1 yes that sounds normal. Mine will slowly creep up if standing in traffic in warm weather, and particularly if we get stuck immediately after a thrash. I assume the extra heat created by going for it doesnt get as good a chance to dissipate if it then gets stuck in a traffic jam. Once it gets up to the right hand side of the 0 the fans kick in and the temp comes down. I had heard that the Prosche temperature guage is different to most modern cars in that it reflects the precise temp at the time. Most cars now sit at normal and only show an increase when there is a significant rise in temp. Anyone else heard this?

POST 7Original post

John, I was just parked in front of you and slightly to the right today at the Midlands Breakfast. And so, same car, same venue, same symptoms. Perfectly normal. What a great 911 turnout too :thumb:

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Nick, Your C4S looked immaculate-sorry I didn't get to say hello in person, was too concerned with finding the bacon butties!
