I recently purchased a cherry 997 cab so I wanted to join here to learn and participate in the community. I do plan on joining PCA and getting involved with local events including a DE or few but for now I'm just enjoying the car.
I spent most of the day detailing it steam to stern. No mods are planned yet, maybe adding an
iPod
interface from NAV TV into the
PCM
, then again I may hold off and go with an aftermarket system.
I'll get some photos online to share but mine is an '06 GT Silver Metallic with Cocoa Brown full leather and top.
Welcome to the forum. GT Silver with Cocoa is a nice combo...post pics when you get a chance. What other options does the car have?
GT Silver? The best color ever made by any car manufacturer, IMHO. Sounds like a great car - welcome. Pictures, please.
PCM
NAV (really sucks by the way.)
19"
Carrera
III wheels
Porsche crest in the headrests
Heated Seats
Full Leather
Previous owner added Tooki BT to the
PCM
.
Congrats on the sweet ride! I was also looking for that color combo...love the cocoa interior!
I too am a new 997 owner but stayed true to my past with another yellow one
I installed the Dension 500 BT for phone and
iPod
over the weekend...works good.
Thanks guys, the two of you bring up an interesting comment about the
PCM
. I think down the road I'll look at a full swap out of the
Bose system
, or at least use an adaptor to keep the '
Bose
' functions. In the meantime I have a couple of questions, my
PCM
unit won't 'feed' a CD-Rom and there's not one stuck in the unit. My dealer said they were going to 'take care of it' which I assume means replacing the entire
PCM
unit. I won an auction for a used NAV-TV OPi-P
iPod
interface kit which I prefer over a CD-Rom any way. I've read that the OPI unit has some quirks and won't work with
iPhones
running IOS 7, not that that's a big deal as I will be using an old
iPod
Classic but I wonder on the ongoing support from NAV-TV?
If the OPi works well enough I'll be content, after all I didn't buy the car for the radio.
