Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Right after a minor setback since October... mainly the weather (never going to change) and finance... I am back to find my first Porsche 911. What kind of price should I be looking at for a good 996 with less than 70K mileage... Are the dealers worthwhile... iam looking to keep it till the Missus is knocked up... So would a full years MOT, and Service be advantageous, or should i build in the price of a New Service...would £15K make it? :?:

POST 2Original post

For 15k I would stay away from OPC as they would not have anything worthwhile. I saw a lovely looking C4 at Gulidford a couple of weeks ago which they had up for around 33k and that was not in the best of nick inside. Paint was good. 15k is at the very lowest end now and would not secure a safe car IMHO and would need work.

POST 3Original post

Best to go to £20k and try and pick up a face lift car. But all cars in that range (15-20) are likely to need something after all they are ten years old. Get a ppi done and buy on condition rather than age. a well looked after and nurtured 3.4 is better than a 3.6 asbo owned car.(but on equal condition a 3.6 facelift is definitely preferable)

POST 4Original post

Have a look at mine, it fits what your after and I'm flexible on the price. It's listed in the classifieds here but I don't think I'm allowed a link. It's all done up ready for summer but I can't drive for quite a while due to seriously breaking my leg skiing a while ago. The C4 is (IMO) a better drive than the C2 and safe enough that my wife drives it too. It doesn't need anything doing, the tyres are great and you can even talk to the garage that services it if you like.
