Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I slowed down and have checked the car, not smoking, no leaks, no oil used, no oil in coolant, normal oil pressure and no longer any warning message in memory when I started engine and have begum driving again.
Leading evidence: 'Check car, not smoking, no leaks, no oil' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check car, not smoking, no leaks, no oil' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Wondering if anybody could shed some light on a warning light that came up then went after 3-5 seconds. I have a 2003 carrera 4, 3.6L, 64,000miles. Doesn't use oil. Oil pressure normally 3 at rest and 5 on the move.
Was engaged in some spirited driving this morning having warmed engine up well first. After going around particularly high G corner a warning message came up of a picture of an oil can with the word of failure indicator. Also transiently for 2-3 seconds oil pressure went from 5 to 0 but then came straight back up to 5. I slowed down and have checked the car, not smoking, no leaks, no oil used, no oil in coolant, normal oil pressure and no longer any warning message in memory when I started engine and have begum driving again.
What is the significance of this. I have heard on some forums that the standard 3.6 engine is wet sump as opposed to dry sump of GT3 and has theoretical risk of oil starvation at high G race situations. Surely this can't be a normal situation as I would regard the cars abilities normally being higher than my own. I am hoping this is a transient electronic gremlin but would be grateful if others could shed some light on this. I am planning some track days in the summer and am feeling a bit nervous now
Sounds like some sort of oil surge given the high g forces involved. This could lead to temporary (second or so) oil starvation which would give the symptoms you state. or it could (perhaps more likely) just be an intermittently faulty sender as Richard said.
It's common. I've just replaced mine a month or so back, same symptoms. You'll probably find that your readings of 3 and 5 bar might actually be a little high due to the sender on it's way out. Mine was like that but now reads 2 and 4 with it hitting 5 when my foot is in the carpet.
Thanks everybody. Hasn't happened again for last few days. Seems to be intermittent oil sender unit problem which I will get replaced at next routine service. So will continue to drive and enjoy my 911
