Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace trim panel' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace trim panel' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys seeking help once again. Let the girlfriend drive the car the other day and with my fob not working properly on my key you know the drill you have to jump in the car etc and press the lock button.
Well somehow, dont ask my how but she managed to push the button right into the front of the dash and for the life of me I cannot get it out?
What is the simplest way to get at this switch, I'm sure its not broken, I just think with too much pressure its come off its plastic mounting?
Any help greatly appreciated, should have gone out in her bloody Audi!!
Regards,
Neil
Do you mean to disable alarm (without working fob)?
In which case you can just unlock the door and put the key in the ignition to "1" and the alarm disables.
In the case of the hamfisted g/f:
Get a butter knife (ok just a blunt knife etc) and carefully prise the side moulding off. (approx 4 clips from memory - just pop the two outer ones and then the inner ones just let go)
If the TT is the same as mine, the 1.5"x5" strip of plastic holding the three buttons and ciggie lighter should pop off by just working the blunt blade round the periphery.
Work from the leather side, not the a/c+radio side. Lay a tea-towel etc between leather and flat blade if you are concerned.
Once free, just turn over and push button back into its holder and replace trim panel.
Not my car, but this is the panel (should be a trim break-out at cup-holder height)
Well I have the full Carbon surround bit, it did just pop off though I was scared of breaking it. Everything sorted. Thanks very much for you help
Neil

Look, Mary has a hormone imbalance. It's not her fault.
Please don't bring it up again or it'll be the spare room again for me. She goes mad when people mention her hirsute nature.
Upside is she doesn't put the central heating on as much as normal birds.
I think most missusses are like that, mine is 5'4in but if she says its Friday, its friday!! :queen: Except where the car is concerned, then I put me foot down............gently
