If you have the M490 Sound Package, and want the power when you have the radio switched on, then you could use the radio-switched feed to the amplifier.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone had need to find an ignition switched 12V (low current draw) under the front luggage compartment somewhere? If so, it would save me a lot of hassle if someone could tell me the best place to take it off. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

it's my understanding there's nothing switched passed the front dash, similar question asked over at Renntec last week.

POST 3Original post

YESSSSSS Thanks

POST 6Original post

Spill the beans then, what are you fitting? Would have thought a CD changer probably had a switched live as well. TB

POST 7Original post

The switched control wires for the cd and amp are low amperage outputs (>0.5a) so not suitable unless you add a relay, and obviously the radio would need to be on ....although getting cables from the cabin into luggage compartment is easy enough..2 large grommets next to the heater hoses behind the battery.
