These are all mp3 files, seemingly using the same MPEG 1/2/3a codec per Windows, but I suspect they may not be encoded the same way.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I've been listening to a lot of podcasts on the way into work (via the USB stick), but have been frustrated that some mp3s seem to not play. I'll be playing through episodes of a series, in one case the first 80 episodes play just fine, then the radio will hang (locked up) for 30 seconds and then skip 20 or 30 episodes and pick up whatever mp3 it liked that happened to be next. The problem files show up in the dash display if I use the stalk to browse, but won't play, and don't show up on the touch screen. These are all mp3 files, seemingly using the same MPEG 1/2/3a codec per Windows, but I suspect they may not be encoded the same way. Anyone else had issues? Is there a workaround? Another issue I've had is that sometimes when I start the car, the mp3 player will pick up where it left off... not the last time I stopped the car, but the time before that. Midly annoying when I'm listening to songs but REALLY annoying when I have to try to track to where I was in a 3hr podcast file. What gives there? Seems to do it both CD and USB. I haven't picked up a pattern to work around yet.
