Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Fabulous fella! Is that Porsche Green aka GT3RS colour?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Yes, I believe it is called Viper Green. I know it's a bit of a marmite colour but I love it and had a very positive response at the caring with cars show last week mollytherocker said: Fabulous fella! Is that Porsche Green aka GT3RS colour?

POST 4Original post

Congratulations!! Looks so much better than the bland silver etc. Really like it.

POST 5Original post

I hate to be a pedant but it will be Porsche Green. It is often referred to as Viper, but that is an old 70s colour, which to be fair is very similar. Even main dealers do it! Viper does sound better though!

Quick update with my Cayman, A few aesthetic changes, rear badge changed to a black one, picked up 2 new side grilles today (black) and mirrors will follow next month. Also bought a new steering wheel and had it re trimmed in alcantara with green stitching (the original carbon fibre wheel got insanely hot in the sun and also not good with sweaty palms on track). Also lashed out on 4 new Michelin Super Sports A few performance mods next week, bought this exhaust Then an IPD & 82mm TB and also a short shifter to follow

POST 8Original post

Cheers matey!, no I bought it from a friend (he bought it from OPC Bristol), Had the wheels on from new but it is a late 2009 model so I guess they threw the gen 2 wheels on it with the special paint order??

rObArtes said: looks great ! can i ask how much it cost and how long to have the steering wheel retrimmed? Original quote for napa leather was £120 but then I changed to alcantara and added green stitching and the matching 12 o'clock ring and the total bill was £140 and took a week to do. They also offer a replacement wheel service if your car is a daily driver. Been quoted £50 to get the handbrake and gearshift gaitor done in matching trim

POST 15Original post

I remember when I bought my brand new gen 2 Cayman ...one of the first back in 2009...the recession was just kicking in. You could get a cracking deal on the Cayman S Sport (same colour as yours plus orange ones too I think). Yours will look just the same once you've painted the mirrors and vents black. Great to see you doing some mods....one of the luxuries of being out of Porsche warranty! Cheers

Good luck with yours if you use Facebook have a look at the Porsche Cayman S Club page, there's quite a lot who have recently done the grill mod

The jigsaw was a bit scary especially as I was using the wrong blade for plastic so it bounced around a bit.

I reckon a set of these LED sidelights and grill guards would suit yours.

No offence intended, just my opinion, hence use of 'imho' to indicate I'm offering an opinion.

You don't need to break into the loom, inserting a simple diode in the light switch does the trick. This now makes me want to get some of those LED spars now http://www.boxa.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=6353...

And I would disagree, I think they look quite neat... And not a cheap bolt on afterthought!

There was a chap on Planet9 (J_Copeland) who was fabricating a nice little kit, don't know if he is still about or not... http://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-boxster-modific... Finally got round to fitting the OEM short shifter that I bought last summer. Quite time consuming removing the centre console but very rewarding to have done it myself and saved a lot by not having to pay someone's labour rate. Very happy with the feel of the shift now - how it should be

Fitted the Goodridge hoses (green of course), Brembo race fluid & GT3 brake ducts

rObArtes said: hi andy, i've just bought some twin tips to replace my single oval. just wondering if you fitted your twin pipes yourself ? if yes, how hard were they to fit? Hiya buddy, They were very easy as mine is an aftermarket exhaust and the tips are just separate straight pipes that clamp on with a single bolt.I guess if yours is a factory exhaust then it will be a "T" connection so you may need to loosen one of the boxes to get it clear.

POST 106Original post

forgot fella you fitted a full system. I got hold a 2nd pair of tips for £65, so will what condition they are in, then either I'll have the polished or similar to yours.
