This artical is for the front which I did no problem, The rear should be the same apart from the concentric bolt that adjust's the coffin arm, this is where I had the problem, the bolt is seized in !

Suggestion

Bolts are about £18-00 each and then it will need a full wheel alignment as those arms on the rear set the camber on rear axle.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I replaced my front coffin arms at the weekend and it has improved the tightness and eliminated the creaking form the front end. I want to do the same with the rear and need to know how to remove the concentric bolt on the inner bush ? I got the nut off but the bolt would not come out, In the end I gave up and put everything back as it was... Any ideas ? Cheers, Andy.

POST 2Original post

Hello, These are prone for seizing into the arm on the 996 range as they become a little older ! The bolts normally have to be cut off either side of the bush and replaced. Bolts are about £18-00 each and then it will need a full wheel alignment as those arms on the rear set the camber on rear axle. Mike

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That makes sense... I thought I was just being stupid and missing something obviouse. Thanks for the advice, Andy.

POST 4Original post

Hi, I have recently read an article in 911 & Porsche World magazine(April 2010) where it takes you through the replacement process with photos. I could see about scanning this and mailing across on Monday if that helps? It looks a straight-forward job once you have it up on the ramp. Let us know and I will PM
