Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, I noticed my front suspension sounded quite noisy/clunky when travelling at low speed over poorly surfaced road. It was a normal piece of tarmac but with several small bumps making the suspension compress at a high frequency. I cannot tell any difference in how the car drives recently and it does not appear to have any undue suspension noises over normal tarmac/driving. Am I being paranoid or is a little bit of suspension noice normal with a C4S?

first port of call and easy to check, ARB drop link nut, when loose causes a metallic clunk as you say on vibration surface rather than corner slow body role. what else, could be brake pads, they clunk when loose though unlikely unless you've lost any sort of anti vibration pads from the calipers excess wear forked stabiliser bar bushes, they clunk under braking also consider top mounts that have worked loose, also easy to check. good luck finding your noise
