Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It seems it had worked using snow leopard but it does not work for me using Lion.
Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

Leading evidence: 'Use lion' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Combined work: Use lion + Use snow leopard' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 1 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I then used vCard Splitter to separate my contacts into individual files and then transmitted them to the CDR30 via Bluetooth from my laptop.

You might also want to try resetting the CDR30 to the default settings and try to pair again.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been to the dealer for service, and they uploaded "the latest software" in to the CDR30 with no change.
Has anyone been able to transfer contacts from
Iphone
4 to the
CDR-30
? I wasnt able to do it with the older
Iphones
. I just got an
Iphone
4 and was hoping to be able to transfer. But, no luck
Unfortunately, you cannot transfer contacts directly from the
iPhone
. There is one method that involves using a laptop with Bluetooth. I was able to get the CR30 to recognize my
Macbook
over Bluetooth. I then used vCard Splitter to separate my contacts into individual files and then transmitted them to the CDR30 via Bluetooth from my laptop.
Steve I concur can you write this up into an Article and post it to our Articles section ?

Please do! Ive got all the contacts in individual VCF files ... now I just need to get them from my
macbook
to the Porsche ... Do I need special software? Is it just drag and drop?
Thanks Steve!
Make sure that the laptop is not to far away from the CDR30. I did this while I was in my car with the laptop. You might also want to try resetting the CDR30 to the default settings and try to pair again.
I don't think I'm going to be any help. I do know that some devices will "time out". For example, my
Motorola
cell phone will time out after 30 seconds. Could that be happening?
Could never get it to work and after spending too much time on project car ultimately went into frightening shut down mode with alarms beeping... and wouldn't start!! Fortunatley
battery tender
overnight saved the day...project aborted...not worth it for me. Thanks anyway for suggestions.
You may be able to still transfer your contacts from Windows. The key is simply being able to get your contacts into vCard format, pairing your laptop with the CDR30, and finally transmitting the vCard files over Bluetooth to the CDR30. I found a link that describes pairing over Bluetooth and then sending files. Take a look at the link and see if it helps you out

I really wish I could get it done in the next few hours, however, I have some work deadlines that I need to focus on. I can work on it for next month or I could send you my Word Doc if you have any time to copy and paste the material in.
Send me the word doc and pics separately and I'll see what i can do

Steve, I got my contacts in no problem... but am having a brain-fart on how to make the CDR actually dial?
If I push the contacts button, they are all there. I can select one and the correct phone number shows up, but I don't know what to do next to get it to actually do the dialing.
There is a "dial" button on the CDR but it brings up a dial pad screen like you were going to dial manually.
I put my numbers in without a leading "1"... just like I would dial it on my phone. Could that be the problem?
Any ideas?

Thanks for the write-up; I've successfully uploaded my (
iPhone
4) phone book contacts via a
Macbook
and bluetooth, as .cvf files.
However, like the poster above, the CDR30 will not dial out on the contacts. Has anyone been able to figure out why this is? :helpme:
I've been to the dealer for service, and they uploaded "the latest software" in to the CDR30 with no change.
thanks,
Bill
Did you require getting the latest software put on the CDR30 in order to transfer the contacts? I can't even get past that step
The bluetooth connection between my
macbook pro
and CDR30 constantly connects and disconnects, so I've been unable to transfer any files.
The 2011 MBP should be able to do it if you didn't miss any steps (I missed one the first time). I've successfully done the contract transfer with both 2010 and 2011 MBPs. My buddy's older one, I think 2008, did not work though.
I've done a lot more playing around, with both the MBP and a work Blackberry Bold 9650.
I was able to transfer contacts from the BB to the
CDR-30
after pairing it successfully.
However, a funny thing happens: the contact list only works when the BB is active and paired via BT. If I turn off the BB, turn on the
iPhone
, the radio recognizes the
iPhone
...but the contacts list goes away. Turning off the
iPhone
and turning on the BB, the contacts list is back.
I'm guessing that maybe a s/w upgrade on the
CDR-30
changed the behavior of how contacts work - a separate contacts list seems to be retained for each device?
Anyway, I am still getting the "service not supported" error, displayed on the MBP, when trying to send the files to the
CDR-30
, and followed the instructions to the letter.
ed
(FWIW, just received my car, so it probably has the latest s/w update.)
Just wondering if anyone has been successful in pairing the
iphone
4 to the cdr 30 at this point.
There was a work around using a
macbook
which I tried which was unsuccessful also. It seems it had worked using snow leopard but it does not work for me using Lion. : (
My phone (
iPhone
4) pairs fine. It's just the contacts that don't sync. The MBP doesn't seem to support the file transfer mode, so I can't send contacts this way.
ed
Nor can I find ANY way to get the contacts in for the
iPhone
, as the
CDR-30
doesn't even let you manually punch them in. I guess I could use Siri to initiate calls...
I paired my Blackberry Bold and my
iPhone
4s to my
Pioneer head unit
very
easily, I think it took about 4 minutes all told to copy my Outlook contacts from my smartphones to the head unit. All contacts are there, easy to scroll and call through my built-in BT. Just a thought, you could always go aftermarket
lroathe:
Thanks for this info.
sounds like I may have a lot of manual editing in my future if this method works. I hope that you are successful with this program!
thanks for the input.
I think this is because the CDR-30 can have 5 phones paired with it. I would think each phone would have its own contact list. But it seems strange that you could see the contacts from another phone.
I was one of Lane's beta testers...his program is working as advertised. Hopefully it'll show up in the app store soon.
That said...it still depends on your being able to pair your laptop with the radio (and keep your
iPhone
on). Unfortunately, 10.7 doesn't want to pair correctly (for me it never asks to type in the 4 digit code, so they never pair.) Even under 10.6 it's flaky - it takes a few tries to get the two to pair properly.
Bottom line, though: with perserverence, I finally have contacts on the
CDR-30
that I can scroll using the stalk that work with the
iPhone
!
