I figure if I ever get into pca racing, I'll either move on to another bar or, who knows, maybe pca will change their minds.

Suggestion

I will be using for auto-x and DE stuff and to my knowledge a roll bar isn't required for either so what would it matter?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

 • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

3 hours to install 2 hours to subsequently remave and install Does still restrict rearward motion (albeit slightly) of the GT3 seat Restricted the stock seat more than two inches

POST 4Original post

Is this bar compatible if you have the Bose (rear sub) audio system?

POST 5Original post

I hope this doesn't negatively affect anyone, but this thread (from the DE/Racing board): http://forums.rennlist.com/cgi-bin/rennforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=001120 states that PCA has outlawed the DAS rollbar in 996's and is evaluating them in 993's. The thread has more details.

POST 6Original post

Yeah, I've read that thread too. I figure if I ever get into pca racing, I'll either move on to another bar or, who knows, maybe pca will change their minds. In any case, I don't believe there is anything unsafe about the design of the bar. I imagine this bar would be a chore to mount around the rear sub, but I'd bet it is possible. Is the sub over the rear shock tower mounts or further back?

POST 8Original post

From the pictures is looks like the bottom of the "back piece" lays exactly where the Bose sub is mounted. I read the thread about PCA banning the DAS bar. Is it banned for Club Racing or all events? I will be using for auto-x and DE stuff and to my knowledge a roll bar isn't required for either so what would it matter? Is there a website for DAS so I can inquire about fitment with the Bose system? TIA

POST 9Original post

Just PCA club racing. I haven't heard of anyone banned from DE's or elsewise with it. http://www.das-sport.com/

POST 10Original post

Patrick, Thank you for posting the good quality digital photos. I've been watching this thread as I have a DAS rollbar to install next week in my '01 996. GonzoP1

POST 12Original post

I have a DAS bar for a 996 painted silver. If anyone is interested in it please email me. Bill
