I wish I had just started using the Nanolex product to begin with, it is more durable than the rest of the products I have tried.

Suggestion

I currently use TurtleWax Extreme, but I've been told that Vaseline of all things is excellent at keeping air and moisture out of the split line and preventing oxidation.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have recently purchased some split rims and was wondering what you guys used to protect them....i have looked into some of the protective waxes/polishes on the market, some of these being Diamond Brite Rim Wax Protex4 Smartwax Autoglym Any idea whats the best on the market??

POST 3Original post

Zymol wax if I'm treating the whole car...Rimwax if not.

POST 4Original post

I currently use TurtleWax Extreme, but I've been told that Vaseline of all things is excellent at keeping air and moisture out of the split line and preventing oxidation. Anyone else heard/tried it? :?:

POST 5Original post

Well Vaseline is recommended in the Porsche manual!

POST 6Original post

Hi I've tried pretty much all of them, this stuff is the business: http://www.elitedetailer.com/product_info.php?products_id=361&cPath=37 Very very durable. Regards G :thumb:

POST 7Original post

I use Autoglym and find that it works well, it's not too pricey either... You might find this useful too http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/220794/wheel_polish_test.html Cheers

POST 8Original post

I have tried, Autoglym, Rimwax, Chemical guys and Poorboys and recently started unsing the Nanolex wheel sealant G recommended. I wish I had just started using the Nanolex product to begin with, it is more durable than the rest of the products I have tried. The wheels are so much easier to maintain as the RS29 brakedust comes off easily now.

POST 9Original post

Autoglym for me too, which seems to work quite well.....although to be fair, I have not tried the others.
