Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have an original Porsche tape deck in my 996. It also has a 6 CD changer in the boot. However, I quickly want to attach my ipod and was thinking of the mock tapes that have a line in wire that plugs into the headphone socket of the iPod. The only issue is that the tapes only play when the flip cover is shut and can anyone confirm that this does indeed shut with the line in wire?

POST 2Original post

Why not buy an FM adaptor for your ipod instead of having cables all over the place? TB

POST 3Original post

I had the CR22 tape deck in my 986 and used a 'tape' to connect the IPOD. It takes a bit of fiddling but I can confirm that tape fully inserts, flap closes, and it works OK. javascript:emoticon(':thumb:') Didn't remove tape though - left it fitted. Winco

POST 4Original post

Change the stereo to a more modern one. The Becker Cascade is a good one and has navigation, bluetooth, ipod and looks OEM.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
