That's exactly what I'm after cheers, seems JZM have sent me the correct part after checking the number from your replies.....so I can happily get it fitted this weekend.

Or do I have to change the whole front bumper for a new one?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys I currently have a Mk1 GT3 front bumper & Spoiler fitted to my 996 I have been advised by you guys on here to change it for a cup spoiler. How do I do this???? Will just the rubber spoiler bit fit my existing front PU? Or do I have to change the whole front bumper for a new one? Also where can I get what I need? Cheers guys :thumb:

POST 2Original post

attaches with the same plastic mounting points if you have an OEM GT3 front bumper

POST 3Original post

Lee You can order them from JZM, they have them on the self ready to go. You will find there details under Porsche Parts. Great meeting you today at Donnington, the colour of your car is amazing :thumb:

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers guys I'll give em a ring tomorrow :thumb: It was lovely to meet you to John.......can't wait for our trip to the ring now!! P.s good photo....lookin good!! Simon was a lovely bloke too, and his TVR, one word AWESOME!! Thanks guys for the advice on the front spoiler, but do you have to take the front bumper off to replace the the rubber chin bit?! Regards Lee

POST 5Original post

You don't need to take the PU off, but a ramp would be helpful to get you some working space. BTW, the hard plastic OEM clips are like 22p each and the Cup spoiler shouldn't be more than about £100. Must more aggressive look, sure you'll be happy with it :thumb:

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys I ordered a Cup front splitter for a MK1 GT3 front PU from JZM the other day and it arrived very promptly this morning.....all good, I hear you say! :thumb: I opened the box to find, to my disappointment I might add. The the new splitter looks exactly the same as the old one!! So I rang the guy in the parts department at JZM who was very nice and polite and even remember my order. To explain I had ordered a Cup Splitter for the GT3 Mk1 front PU and that it was exactly the same as the standard one fitted to my car.... He told me that he had sent the right one, apparently it says on it motorsport, the new spitter is 4cm deep and looks exactly trhe same as the standard one..........surley this can't be right? Ooh and it was £152.00 for the pleasure too....... Has anyone seen one, got one or ever bought one do they all look the same because if the one they have supplied is the cup spolier I'm very very very disappointed! :finger: Regards Lee

POST 7Original post

Have a read of this, it contains all the part numbers etc... http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=35442&highlight=cup+splitter :thumb:

POST 8Original post

Hi, It looks to me like your car already has the cup splitter on, I noticed this on a thread by the previous owner. Keep it as a spare, they dont last forever!

POST 9Original post

I have the same gt3 kit as you and about a month ago i was in the market for a cup spoiler and so i ordered one through porsche in reading for about £100 and i can tell you that the spolier you have is a gt3 rs cup spoiler. You can tell it's a cup spoiler because the sides of the spoiler fair out a bit more than the standard spoiler. Hope this helps! :dont know:

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm not so sure it is you know choatie & brum brum check out the two pictures on this thread: http://www.porkers.co.uk/topic.asp?p=3&f=48&t=490747&h=11 Mine is definitely the bottom of the 2 pictures, because as you can see from my picture above the splitter fitted to my car (old splitter) blends in a tapers off to nothing. The Cup splitter on the top picture on the other thread flares out all the way round. Flippin heck why is it all so complicated, :?: I only need to now the part number so I can either keep the one I've got or send it back to JZM Someone Please Please Help me :worship: Lee

POST 11Original post

Hi Lee, What you have fitted to the car and from JZM is the Cup MK1 spoiler, what you see in the pictures on porkers is the Cup MK2 spolier, pretty sure the MK2 fits the MK1.. Hope that helps

POST 12Original post

The MKII part numbers are: 996 505 986 91 - GT3RS (AKA CUP) Splitter 996 505 986 92 01C - GT3 Splitter The RS ones are cheaper because they're less finished (not expected to last long!) and apparently subsidised by Porsche Motorsport. 000 043 206 04 - 3M double sided Adhesive Tape 4 Metre 999 507 427 40 - Expansion Rivet (Qty 15) The tape and rivets work well for me, no problems at high speed (170 Mph) On a side note, I buy all my parts from OPC Reading, after looking around they consistently come out the cheapest for things like RS splitters, GT3 ARBs, GT3 Front PU, Rear wing shims, RS Engine mounts, GT3 Adjustable Control Arms, X51 oil pans, GT3 Brake ducts. Been good for my bank balance so happy to put anyone in touch with the main man down there, call it a community service :thumb:

POST 13Original post

Is this what your after? This is the GT3 RS Cup Spoiler that i bought from Reading Porsche about a month ago.

POST 14Original post

that's the one I was just about to post that up Proper Cup Splitter, works wonders on race tracks but more prone to spped hump damage so be careful !

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys for you replies  That's exactly what I'm after cheers, seems JZM have sent me the correct part after checking the number from your replies.....so I can happily get it fitted this weekend. So all is good :thumb: Cheers Guys Lee
