The hands-free speaker had significantly louder output compared to the smaller center dash speaker so I abandoned my mission to get the dash speaker to work and installed the larger hands-free speaker.

Then mine is abvioulsy broken because I have tested everysingle wire on this thing and have found no evidence of an amplified signal on it anywhere.

This is the same method used by Cayenne owners I know who get phone audio to work on their Bose systems.

I also read where some people just used an external speaker.

3) I will be working in conjunction with another company so that I can use the Parrot BLuetooth system with the Multi-Function Steering Wheel - thereby obviating the need for the Phone Module that Porsche sells - and getting full integration with the car!

Thats what Parrot wanted me to do at first (they had no clue at first how to), but the guy who did the installation for me found a way to go thru the center top speaker and using the signal from the parrot.

the phone system uses a telephone control module which has copper inputs then outputs to the PCM/CDR24 using the MOST bus; it's possible if you get the phone control module that you can retrofit it through MOST, but I bet it's really pricey and I wouldn't wanna experiment with it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I found 2 different sets in pins that one posting or another said was telephone (+) and GND but they didn't work.
Well, I decided that I had to give it a try and I bought a parrot 3100 (bluetooth) for my CS with Bose (but no PCM/NAV). It actually went together pretty quickly, the system works, it was easy to make it mute the stereo, when I get a call the stereo mutes and says 'PHONE' and the person who calls me can hear me.
now the big problem and yes I know this is way Bose is always an issue; where can I put the line inputs into? Everything works except I still can't hear anything. I believe that there has to be a way to do this without touching the fiber. I found 2 different sets in pins that one posting or another said was telephone (+) and GND but they didn't work. I also read the posts where no one else has ever figured out how to make them work. I also read where some people just used an external speaker. I'm pretty sure the parrot line outs need to be amplified. I also had the impression that someone on the forum with Bose has done this and correctly but I've been waiting for him to post how it was done.
Now, understanding that I was not able to figure this out even after spending an hour connecting to random wires I have to say this: That a Porsche friendly shop told me it would take an entire day and cost $700 to do the install is insane. This is 2 wires away from being an easy and quick job.
Once I get this working, I will let everyone know how I did it.
Tme,
If I were you, I'd splice into the center speaker line directly and see where that gets you. Here is a quote from the user cocodrilo who is the only person I know of on this forum who got audio through their system with a Parrot kit, "I have one and works great. If I remember it well, you gotta use the center speaker line, thats where the sound is coming out....the mute goes in the "phone" in pin. Enjoy!"
This is the same method used by Cayenne owners I know who get phone audio to work on their Bose systems.
Still... I know this isn't a very good method, so I will read through some wiring diagrams and service manuals I have later and see if I can come up with any other solution.

Thanks. I actually ment to mention that too. I saw that post but wasn't sure where to tap into the center channel at. If it's at the speaker and it's the one at the dash, I still couldn't find the wiring to it and wasn't sure if you could just pull it out....
TME, sorry to say, no luck on my side... the phone system uses a telephone control module which has copper inputs then outputs to the PCM/CDR24 using the MOST bus; it's possible if you get the phone control module that you can retrofit it through MOST, but I bet it's really pricey and I wouldn't wanna experiment with it.
It's strange since the CDR24 wiring diagram does show a telephone low frequency in at C7 and telephone low frequency ground at C12.
Anyways... the yellow\yellow, yellow\brown speaker cable coming in by the fuse box, that's the speaker cable for the center channel. It comes from the Bose amp, and goes to the speaker.

I don't think the center channel is as easy as it sounds. I could not find a yellow-brown wire near the fuse box so I just pulled the center channel out of the dash (and yes the yellow-yellow and yellow-brown wires were there). I hooked the parrot lineout directly to the speaker and you could barely hear a thing: The signal will need to be amplified. I think I may just give up and add another driver, but then I have to find a 12v amplified speaker!
Parrot Aux Speaker
I remember reading somewhere that the Parrot output connector has speaker levle and line level outputs, which ones did you hook up to the center speaker? I read the high level out leads are gray, gray\black.

BOSE (mine) or no BOSE, guys there is no need for an external speaker. Thats what Parrot wanted me to do at first (they had no clue at first how to), but the guy who did the installation for me found a way to go thru the center top speaker and using the signal from the parrot. It works perfect in mine, loud and clear. No need to mess around with the MOST system. Everything is included in the kit, maybe, just added a relay or so I think for connecting to the fuse box. Not sure. Coco.
Ok, I got it all installed and working. Took a lot of time I didn't have but it was actually very easy. I will try to post something tomorrow night. Thanks for the help everyone....
tme110,
do you think you could post some pics or installation guides on how you set up your Parrot with the Bose speakers (I have PCM - but either way, I'd appreciate your input).
The reason I'm asking:
1) I am expecting my Cayman S to arrive ANY DAY NOW!!!
2) I'd like to install Bluetooth
3) I will be working in conjunction with another company so that I can use the Parrot BLuetooth system with the Multi-Function Steering Wheel - thereby obviating the need for the Phone Module that Porsche sells - and getting full integration with the car!
Would greatly appreciate your help,
Ron
Thanks. I saw it but didn't realize that he did the write-up.
I will be working with the company so this way people who have the MFSW (multi-function steering wheel) can use the specialized phone buttons the way they were intended. Also, the phone # should also display on the screen display (by the tachometer, speed, etc) since it is integrated with CANbus...
Do you have any suggestions???
How many people do you think have the MFSW?
Do you know any GOOD installers in the South Florida (Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area) to install a Parrot system?
Hello tme110,
I had the same problem when installing mine so I isolated the center dash speaker and compared it's output volume to a speaker box from a cell phone hands-free kit (measured about 2.5" x 4.5" x 2"). The hands-free speaker had significantly louder output compared to the smaller center dash speaker so I abandoned my mission to get the dash speaker to work and installed the larger hands-free speaker. I installed it by "Frenching" it in flush to the console access panel down by the drivers right calf.
For what it is worth, the performance of the Parrot Blue tooth is excellent while the car is stationary. However it's performance is marginal at best (even with the much needed larger speaker) when rolling down the road due to all of the ambient noise rendering my speech barely intelligible to the person at the other end of the call.
Regards,
Joe
