Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My question is, do you guys think it is worth to yank it out and replace w/ my CDR 24 or I should try to sell the car with it?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Greetings fellas
I have a 987s MY 06, w/o
bose
and w/o CD changer that I bought about 4 months ago. I wanted with nav, but one do not chose equipment on used car so I had the original
PCM
w/ navigation installed.
The thing is that I will be moving abroad, so I will sell the car soon and I won't see the money I put in the
PCM
/nav back, so I'd rather sell all of it,
GPS
antenna, power cable to the DVD and fiber optic cable along with the DVD and head unit.
My question is, do you guys think it is worth to yank it out and replace w/ my CDR 24 or I should try to sell the car with it? Any idea of a price range for the whole thing (
PCM
, DVD nav player, navigation disk, fiber optic cable,
gps
antenna and cable, power cable to the DVD)?
Thanks guys,
Dunno much about the US market, but IMHO the PCM would make the car more appealing for potential customers, if you got a customer that wouldnt mind having a non PCM car, I think selling it separately would yield better profit!

A good car will get you from point A to point B. A great car... will just get you into trouble!
Yep, apparently it has to be the hard way. People love navigation but are not willing to pay for OEM device, particularly with a lot of options around US$100 around here.
I think I'll endup taking everything out and selling it as a "kit". Any takers?
It was incredible easy, some guidelines are posted here and on 6speedonline. All you need to disassemble are the two lateral panels with 2 screws each. That part took me 5 mins. The busy part, not difficult but lenghty, is mouting and wiring the navigation. Total time I would say, depending on your experties, from 60-90 mins.
It works fine and also plays MP3. If you have
sport chrono package
, I believe you can ask to a Porsche dealership to set it up to control the door opening, lighting (as
Sport chrono package
plus) etc...
Ok, then how much are you wanting for it. also is it just the basic nav system
i noted that there is an additional cost for somethng that records and logs trips if you were to buy it from the factory. thanks
I can't be sure, I lost the paper where it was written, but I can tell you it works fine for a non-
Bose
, no-cd changer system. As far as I know those are the variants for 987. For instance, for 997, it varies if it is a
Carrera
2 or 4, not important for us 987's dudes...
Let me know if that suffices, otherwise I need to remove the
PCM
...
Thanks for the quick response.
After some further digging around, it seems Porsche have two different TSBs for the retrofit covering "MY06" and "MY07 and later" cars. The TSBs list different part numbers for the
PCM
unit and Navigation modules, and it is not clear how/if the parts actually differ. Rather than a take a risk I think I will keep looking. Good luck with finding a buyer elsewhere. I think the price is very reasonable.
There are threads around here that tell you what you need. The official retrofit kit is not necessary to make it work. As long as you have a matching
PCM
+ Nav and it has the necessary amplifier (
bose
/non-
bose
), you should be good. Many of us have done retrofits of
PCM
or
PCM
+Nav.
