Then when using the indicator the turn signal on the dash flashes really fast like in the old days when a bulb had blown.

For god measure I changed all 3 bulbs in the right cluster. Made no difference.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 997 (2006 S) is throwing up warnings on the dash to "check front side light" and "check front right indicator". Then when using the indicator the turn signal on the dash flashes really fast like in the old days when a bulb had blown. But, from the outside all the lights work fine!?! For god measure I changed all 3 bulbs in the right cluster. Made no difference. It's been doing this on and off for a while but now it's every time I drive it and worse, now it's started doing the same for the left side! I've googled this and I've found others with then same issue but no explanation as to how to cure it or what the issue is. The lights are the standard fittings (non-led). Any ideas? I would look at the earths for the lights and battery, make sure these aren't degraded.
