Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

i've double checked all the connections which seem fine.

I've reconnected all the cabling coming from the car, incl the seat belt warning connecter, however now the car car is telling me there is an airbag failure.

Saying that most cars reset themselves if you just disconnect the battery and leave it for a while and then reconnect it......

Suggestion
You should always disconnect the battery and leave the car for at least 2 minutes before disconnecting any airbag wiring looms or the airbag ecu will think theres a fault in the system if the circuit is broken.

However, whilst changing the drivers seat I have had to disconnect and the electric cables running to the control box on the underside of the original seat.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi chaps,
in need of a little help!
I've recently aquired a set of lovely leather Recaro buckets seats for my C4S
However, whilst changing the drivers seat I have had to disconnect and the electric cables running to the control box on the underside of the original seat.
I've reconnected all the cabling coming from the car, incl the seat belt warning connecter, however now the car car is telling me there is an airbag failure.
i've double checked all the connections which seem fine. Any ideas?

Saying that most cars reset themselves if you just disconnect the battery and leave it for a while and then reconnect it...... worth a try!
does it happen when you leave the seat belt connector unclipped
otherwise sounds like you may need to get a reset via an indy/opc PIWIS plug in pc system
The coputer (ecu) was fixed to the underside of the seat so wasn't 100% what it might be connecting to.
The seat belt is re connected and fine the light comes on and off as you fix and undo the seatbelt.
I though I might need to just get it reset at a garage. I might try leaving the battery off for 30 mins or so.
However the seats look and are the absolute business, when i eventually get the drivers seat in and fixed I'll post some pictures.
Thanks for your comments
Will need to be reset by PWIS system or indi with a good OBD system.
removing the battery is unlikely to reset airbag warning lights due to how high they sit within the ECU's hirachy
sorry!
If you had memory seats, that might be what this unit was. The airbag ecu is mounted behind the base of the centre console.
If you are anywhere near me I'd be happy to turn off the airbag light for you.
Richard H,
Thanks for your offer I may well take you up on this. I'm only in Epsom so probably half an hour away if the M25 is ok.
The car did have memory seats which is what i thought would be the control box. The seat belt light and sensor is all sorted tho!
Graham,
I finished the seats today and not long been in after taking her out for a good run.
TBH, i'm not sure if your lardy arse would fit in to the sculptured seats!!!!
I'll get some pics taken tomorrow and i'll post them up
